I was born in Egypt and raised as a Muslim. I finished memorizing the Quran at the age of 12 and went through Al-Azhar schools. At Al-Azhar University, I earned bachelor and master’s degrees and ended with a doctorate degree in Islamic History and Culture. At the age of 34, while serving as an imam and lecturing for the university, I began to openly question the validity of Islam. I was fired from the university, kidnapped, imprisoned, tortured, and released. I became a Christian after reading the Bible and ultimately came to the United States for religious asylum. Since coming to the United States, I have written four books: Islam and Terrorism, Islam and the Jews, Jesus and Muhammad, and Journey into the Mind of an Islamic Terrorist. [Dr Mark Gabriel]
