The voice of silence…

I have been researching things pertaining to the new-age movement. One name that you must remember is Madame Blavatsky. She was a Russian mystic and started the ‘Theosophical Society’. Upon some of my research I came across this youtube which is a series on the new-age and occult. One part of the videos spoke about Blavatsky’s books that she has authored. One book which piqued my interest is called ‘The voice of the silence’.

Why did this interest me? Well, most of you who have read my blog knows that I’ve spoken about the emergent church and how they have engaged in contemplative prayer. There is a wealth of information about this type of prayer which stems from the ‘Desert Fathers’. These desert fathers combined mystical eastern practices like zen meditation with Christian prayer. There has been a resurgence of this practice within popular Christian culture. To fully grasp why this not biblical and what this is all about see HERE

Now, back to the book.

I just want to show you something that will really hit home about this inner silence according to the occultist Madame Blavatsky. Please pray for protection before you read any further, pray that you will not be seduced by this mystical teaching, nor given over to it…

THESE instructions are for those ignorant of the dangers of the lower IDDHI (1).

He who would hear the voice of Nada (2), “the Soundless Sound,” and comprehend it, he has to learn the nature of Dharana (3).

Having become indifferent to objects of perception, the pupil must seek out the rajah of the senses, the Thought-Producer, he who awakes illusion.

The Mind is the great Slayer of the Real.

Let the Disciple slay the Slayer.

For: —

When to himself his form appears unreal, as do on waking all the forms he sees in dreams;

When he has ceased to hear the many, he may discern the ONE — the inner sound which kills the outer.

Then only, not till then, shall he forsake the region of Asat, the false, to come unto the realm of Sat, the true.

Before the soul can see, the Harmony within must be attained, and fleshly eyes be rendered blind to all illusion.

Before the Soul can hear, the image (man) has to become as deaf to roarings as to whispers, to cries of bellowing elephants as to the silvery buzzing of the golden fire-fly.

Before the soul can comprehend and may remember, she must unto the Silent Speaker be united just as the form to which the clay is modelled, is first united with the potter’s mind.

For then the soul will hear, and will remember.

And then to the inner ear will speak —

THE VOICE OF THE SILENCE

The above is in NO way different from what is being taught within the ecumenical/interfaith and emergent church.

It then goes on to talk about the inner manners or chambers.

[…]Before thou set’st thy foot upon the ladder’s upper rung, the ladder of the mystic sounds, thou hast to hear the voice of thy inner GOD* in seven manners.

These manners or chambers are being taught within the emergent church too! Does that surprise you?

According to Madame Blavatsky to attain the higher self you must conquer the first six portals…

The first is like the nightingale’s sweet voice chanting a song of parting to its mate.

The second comes as the sound of a silver cymbal of the Dhyanis, awakening the twinkling stars.

The next is as the plaint melodious of the ocean-sprite imprisoned in its shell.

And this is followed by the chant of Vina (26).

The fifth like sound of bamboo-flute shrills in thine ear.

It changes next into a trumpet-blast.

The last vibrates like the dull rumbling of a thunder-cloud.

The seventh swallows all the other sounds. They die, and then are heard no more.

When the six (27) are slain and at the Master’s feet are laid, then is the pupil merged into the ONE (28), becomes that ONE and lives therein.

And then she goes on to explain that this is nothing short of the kundalini spirit…

Before the “mystic Power” (31)* can make of thee a god, Lanoo, thou must have gained the faculty to slay thy lunar form at will.

[*Kundalini, the “Serpent Power” or mystic fire.]

Years ago I wrote about the kundalini serpent and the Church, you may want to revisit that post HERE. There is a move towards the esoteric and Gnosticism. It has infiltrated many churches and has certainly found its way in Christian literature.

We must be diligent with God’s Word: 2Ti 2:15  Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. We must know that there is deception at work: Mar 13:6  For many shall come in my name saying, I am he: and they shall deceive many. We must understand that what is happening is called another gospel and is another Jesus: 2Co 11:4  For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we did not preach, or if ye receive a different spirit, which ye did not receive, or a different gospel, which ye did not accept, ye do well to bear with him. We also must know that there is such thing as correct doctrine: Eph 4:14  that we may be no longer children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, in craftiness, after the wiles of error. And we must search scripture to find measure all things against it: Act 17:11  Now these were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of the mind, examining the Scriptures daily, whether these things were so.

What we see happening is the apostate Church has become unequally yoked and is pretty much in bed and committing adultery and as result, is unclean; not virginal at all. My heart breaks for those who have become wilfully blind and seduced from these occultic/mystic/gnostic teachings. I pray that the above quotes from Blavatsky shows you without any doubt that contemplative prayer, centering prayer and lectio divina is an occultic practice.

  1. the second youtube is also good. it talks about the zeitgeist movie and one person describes that movie as a mystic school for dummies and it’s a way to get people who wouldn’t set foot in mystic societies to become indoctrinated. It also says that what comes with it is those people who have watched the movie come away with a sense of pride that they have been given and now understand secret knowledge without any formal initiation.

You can find the second part to this 14 part video series here:

    • The zeitgeist movie is in three parts… this series deals with the first part. The second part of the zeitgeist movie deals with 911 being an inside job. The narrator says he doesn’t have an issue with that. Ummm… I really don’t want this post to get on a tangent about whether or not 911 was done as an inside job. Just letting you all know, okay!

What is far more damaging is the first part of the movie which deals with myth and the bible and the occult.

Just wanted to clarify that 🙂

    • Thanks Lorrie… this post took quite some time to put together. I had a bee in my bonnet over this issue, and I wanted to get it written… but with little Oliver it took all day! Oh well, at least I finally posted it.

But you are right, this issue is one that is burgeoning and not going to go away any time soon! So, we must be armed to combat it.

      Thanks again 🙂
