The Aboriginal Baiame Sky Beings and the Mighty Men of Renown…

Gen 6:4  The Nephilim were in the earth in those days, and also after that, when the sons of God came unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them: the same were the mighty men that were of old, the men of renown.

Most of us have heard about all the ‘flood stories’ that cross all cultures spanning the globe, right? This common thread is so prevalent that it has puzzled people into thinking that the flood story found in Genesis is merely a modified copy of the Epic of Gilgamesh. To find out why this isn’t so see:

Is the Biblical Flood Account a Modified Copy of the Epic of Gilgamesh?

But there is another story that pops up in ancient cultures! Today, I am going to concentrate on just one.

It’s the story that comes from the aboriginal culture, the story of the ‘Sky Beings’. In the Baiame cave there are depictions that represent the ‘Sky Beings’…

There are two categories of spirit beings.

A few all-powerful transcendental beings who created the earth. Often called All-Father. An example; the Sky Beings, called Baiame in New South Wales and Bunjil in Victoria. The Wondjina, primal beings of the Kimberley District, are depicted with halos in huge paintings.

A medicine man is selected because of a history of trances and visions. Medicine men initiate new recruits with magic rituals involving spirit beings. Rituals involve fear, isolation and suggestion (13, p.139). He may prepare for initiation by a two-month fast. He may be given "new insides", and quartz crystals may enter his body to provide power. There seems to be a connection to modern day Aliens and UFOs don’t you think? But I will just point out that the connection is being discussed by the aboriginal people themselves…

Actual Aborigine Quote: Our culture is focused on recording the origins of life. We refer to forces and powers that created the world as creative ancestors. Our beautiful world has been created only in accordance with the power, wisdom and intentions of our ancestral beings. The supernatural Beings, or Totemic Ancestors, that were half human. the ancestors tired and retired into the sky-clouds.
Some aboriginal people are already coming forward to tell of possible UFO or abduction related experiences. For example, Lorraine Mafi-Williams, who has been described as a storyteller and ‘liaison officer’ for the spiritual truths of her Githebul group from the Bundjalung tribe, has revealed to me some of her perceptions of these intrusions into both aboriginal and western lives:

"Our attitude to what goes on up in the heavens is what rules us Aboriginals. Its similar to religion, whereby Christians believe in a religious world ruled by one God, but many "Saints", we believe the same only the many "saints" to us are planetary ones whom you in the the Western world refer to as ET or aliens.
We call them Wandjinas and Mimi Spirits, and have done so for thousands of years, until 1788, when an English concept of the above was interestingly enough (found to be) parralel to what we have practised for eons; that we commonly refer to as our Dreamtime, that began in the Milky Way."
Lorraine suggests that communications from these beings is ongoing and cites her own experiences with her "old friend" since the age of 12. She feels she is an "abductee". "… my dear old friend took me up, yes in a UFO, but a different sort to the western beliefs." Her experiences were more spiritually orientated. She adds, "I went through all or nearly what abductees did …
" Lorraine indicated, "We believe in UFO, but here to we have the aboriginal concept and belief, and we know about abductions and why." [source]

Further research led me to an ancient stone that lays in a place called Katoomba in NSW Australia. This stone is called the Uru stone and has ancient inscriptions that has been deciphered by a man named Rex Gilroy. He has written a book about this stone and in Chapter 3 called “Prophesy Of The Beings Of Light” he tells us what the inscription says…

Set 1. “The planet Mohala – 9 million people live there. It is the abode of 2 moons radiating for the god of millions”.

Set 2. “Hail the beings of light of the planet Mohala, who with its two moons lies 300 time periods from our planet [Uru] within the great constellation of the serpent [Nim], from where tailed stars come. Temples stand upon its surface. Their flying craft have come from there to our world twice, from the abyss of space, where the people are great and live there in happiness, calculating the Sun’s movements over their land for reasons of its fertility”.

Set 3. “From this site the planet’s orbit has been measured to a distance of 300 time periods from us. Mohala and ours [Uru] are two worlds alike. From the abyss of space a Traveling tailed star will strike us in the first year of the Third Age”.

Set 4. “The Gods will come to show the way, to protect our planet. Praise Nim the Sun of millions, the Serpent of Light, praise him. From their world to ours, from the sky to our planet to embrace and save millions. The body approaching our planet from above will break and shatter the land and great numbers of people destroyed in both hemispheres. This will occur in the Third Age as recorded on this stone”. Now I don’t have to tell you that this message has it’s modern day counterparts within UFOlogy, the New Age and Occult!

How could this fit in with the Genesis account? The scripture I quoted at the top of this post speaks about the ‘men of renown’. In Hebrew the word renown means:

A primitive word (perhaps rather from H7760 through the idea of definite and conspicuous position; compare H8064); an appellation, as a mark or memorial of individuality; by implication honor, authority, character: -  + base, [in-] fame [-ous], name (-d), renown, report.

BDB Definition:
1) name
1a) name
1b) reputation, fame, glory
1c) the Name (as designation of God)
1d) memorial, monument
Part of Speech: noun masculine

Interestingly I looked up the H8064  and found this…

שׁמה    שׁמים
shâmayim  shâmeh
shaw-mah’-yim, shaw-meh’
The second form being dual of an unused singular; from an unused root meaning to be lofty; the sky (as aloft; the dual perhaps alluding to the visible arch in which the clouds move, as well as to the higher ether where the celestial bodies revolve): – air, X astrologer, heaven (-s).

Note that this word relates to the sky and celestial bodies and heaven. Also the word Nephilim has its roots in the Hebrew word Naphal which means to be cast down and fall.

I also noted that the above word shamayim sounds an awful lot like shaman, but that may be nothing.  I also noted that it related to the Name (as designation of God). That is probably the reason why the Nephilim were called the ‘sons of God’.

If you have a Strong’s dictionary you should look up the definitions for ‘Mighty Men’ and ‘Old’! And if you have e-sword [you can download this excellent bible tool for free, I wouldn’t be without it!] it gives you related words and you come up with the words: properly concealed, that is, the vanishing point; generally time out of mind (past or future)eternal beginning of the world and without end. Then Strong’s compares these words and you come up with…the bright object at a distance travelled towards; hence (figuratively), splendor and A primitive root; to veil from sight, that is, conceal (literally or figuratively): -  X any ways, blind, dissembler: One who dissembles; a hypocrite; one who conceals his opinions or dispositions under a false appearance., hide (self), secret (thing).

Interesting hey?
