Men of Renown

Fossilized giant excavated from an Irish bog in the late ninteenth century. The ‘tasteful’ drape is, seemingly, an addition of late Victorian propriety. 12′ foot 2" inches in height with 6 toes on it’s right foot a Man of Renown or a son of Nephilim.

Pretty strange hey?

  1. Vee, I’ve come across stuff like this before and in all cases it’s been exposed as a hoax.

And I thought fossils were just bones, as the flesh decays away.

So let’s start by asking the obvious – where did this photo come from, what evidence is there that it is genuine, where is the “giant” now, was it examined by experts… You seem to be a discerning person, so why not be one now?

I really fail to understand why some Christians have an interest in giants and other weird things.

This made me think – would you post a UFO photo as proof of extra-terrestrials?

    • No, I wouldn’t post a UFO photo as proof of aliens.

In the bible it does speak about giants with six toes so it’s not like I don’t think that these giants didn’t exist. I would like to know more about this photo too.

      I did find a bit more…

      Irish Giant

This photo of a ‘fossilized Irish giant’ was taken at a London rail depot, and appeared in the December 1895 issue of Strand Magazine. The giant was allegedly dug up by a Mr Dyer while prospecting for iron ore in County Antrim (Ireland).

It was 12 ft 2 in (3.71 m) tall, weighed 2 tonnes, and had 6 toes on its right foot. After being exhibited in Dublin, it was brought to England and exhibited in Liverpool and Manchester at sixpence a head, ‘attracting scientific men as well as gaping sightseers’. After a legal dispute over ownership, nothing more appears to have been heard or seen of the exhibit.

      But then this…

which explains that it is a hoax.

However, there is documentation on other giant bones that dates back quite a way:

An Essay Concerning Giants, by Dr. Thomas Molyneux M.D. in Philosophical Transactions, Feb. 1700

      Found at:

Found at “The New York Times Archive”

But I do think that so called alien contact with people is demonic in nature. And it will increase as we get closer to the Lord’s Coming.

I read this really good book by Gary Bates called “Alien Intrustion: UFOs and the evolution connection”.

    • Sorry if I sounds disjointed in my replies lately, I have a one year old Grandson that I take care of, and his fingers are everywhere on this laptop. Many of my comments have MANY interruptions and it is a little difficult to keep my train of thought with these blessed interruptions. He comes first!

Peter, I have a thread going on about what constitutes an Apostle. It’s in regard to the New Apostolic Reformationist’s … what do you think. Perhaps I should just write a very quick post, while my grandson is hanging off of my leg and put out the question and see what people think of the New Apostolic movers and shakers.

      Thanks for your patience.

  2. Well, we do know they existed because of biblical history. I may have to pick up that book you mention… Thanks for posting!
