AGW — Just some things to consider…

Gen 8:22  While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, shall not cease."

Just a quick post that has bit and pieces that I found interesting on the “Anthropogenic Climate Change” debate…

STRIKING parallels between the BBC’s coverage of the global warming debate and the activities of its pension fund can be revealed today.

The corporation is under investigation after being inundated with complaints that its editorial coverage of climate change is biased in favour of those who say it is a man-made phenomenon.

[…]Concerns are growing that BBC journalists and their bosses regard disputed scientific theory that climate change is caused by mankind as “mainstream” while huge sums of  employees’ money is invested in companies whose success depends on the theory being widely accepted.

Mars is Melting

The south polar ice cap of Mars is receding, revealing frosty mountains, rifts and curious dark spots.

And…

how do we square the fact that almost every planet in our solar system is simultaneously undergoing temperature change and volatile weather patterns. Does this not suggest that global warming is a natural cycle as a result of the evolving nature of the sun? Can Al Gore fill me in on this one? [source]

And…

A retired physics professor became the latest public figure to debunk the myth of a "consensus" behind man-made global warming when he slammed big money interests for pushing climate change propaganda that was at odds with real science in a speech yesterday.

Howard C. Hayden, emeritus professor of physics from the University of Connecticut, told a Pueblo West audience that he was prompted to speak out after a visit to New York where he learned that scaremongering billboards about the long-term effects of global warming were being purchased at a cost of $700,000 a month.

"Someone is willing to spend a huge amount of money to scare us about global warming," Hayden said. "Big money is behind the global-warming propaganda."

Hayden pointed out that global warming is taking place throughout the solar system, underscoring the fact that natural causes and not human beings are driving climate change, which has occurred throughout history. [source]

Evidence for Natural Climate Cycles in the IPCC Climate Models’ 20th Century Temperature Reconstructions

January 27th, 2010 by Roy W. Spencer, Ph. D.

What can we learn from the IPCC climate models based upon their ability to reconstruct the global average surface temperature variations during the 20th Century?

While the title of this article suggests I’ve found evidence of natural climate cycles in the IPCC models, it’s actually the temperature variability the models CANNOT explain that ends up being related to known climate cycles. After an empirical adjustment for that unexplained temperature variability, it is shown that the models are producing too much global warming since 1970, the period of most rapid growth in atmospheric carbon dioxide. This suggests that the models are too sensitive, in which case they are forecasting too much future warming, too. [source]

Unlike the surface-based temperatures, global temperature measurements of the Earth’s lower atmosphere obtained from satellites reveal no definitive warming trend over the past two decades. The slight trend that is in the data actually appears to be downward. [from NASA – source]

NOTHING TO DO WITH CO2 – the truth about carbon dioxide

"One has only to look at the two most notable charts from two UN IPCC summary reports, published a decade apart, to realize that something might be seriously wrong.  Read on . . .

MAJOR NEW PAPER – UN IPCC unmasked: The science is indeed settled – CO2 is NOT causing global warming! Now, we can explore the development of climate alarm. (1.6MB)  Read on . . .

30 years of collusion revealed: What we are looking at here is the small group of scientists who have for years been more influential in driving the worldwide alarm over global warming than any others, not least through the role they play at the heart of the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).  Read on . . .

Follow the money…

As one person put it…Al Gore manages trillions of green/AGW investment money. Biased? No, he is a Nobel-winning self-denying saint.

The former US vice president is in line to make a large profit from a firm producing smart meters which monitor household electricity use.

He is a partner in a Silicon Valley venture capital firm which invested £45 million in Silver Spring Networks, a small California company which has been developing technology to monitor household power use to make the electricity grid more efficient.

Last week the US Energy Department announced £2 billion in grants and a proportion of that, thought to be more than £305 million, will go to utility operators with which Silver Spring has contracts.

The venture capitalists who invested, including Mr Gore, now look set to receive a handsome return. Al Gore ‘profiting’ from climate change agenda – Telegraph

Have you heard of Generation? Gore is involved with that too…

I found the links above from this commenter who went on to say…Sure, we need to control pollution. But turning over control of all energy consumption to a handful of self-designated global rulers, with no accountability mechanism? This is the technical definition of global totalitarianism. What’s not to love? Yes, we face two reasonable dangers: AGW, and global control from a self-appointed board with no accountability, no vote, no constitutional rights, no appeal, no due process, etc.
Right now, the evidence is trending toward one of these being reality, and one of these being myth. “Follow the money.”
