Orbs of Light — What next?

Recently I posted about my Dad losing his faith, he now even denies the very existence of God.

My Dad who has been a Christian since before I was born (and I am over 40) has recently told the family that he doubts the very existence of God. Unfortunately, he has been involved with a church that has fallen for the Toronto Blessing and to date that church is still having bad doctrine preached from the pulpit by many international guest speakers.

Dad use to be so grounded years ago, and when we have discussed things in the past, he often shared with me his doubts about the “new move of God” that he was witnessing in the Church he was attending. Sadly, Dad has seen God be pushed around by the demands of man in regards to sicknesses and wealth etc., You know what I mean …. the blab it and grab it gospel. He has witnessed God be bullied around in his own fellowship. He has said to me … ‘What about Gods will, does anyone pray in His will anymore, or do they just demand God to this or do that?”

He has said to the family that he started to lose his faith around 10-12 years ago.

Thinking on it that is when that whole move started in his church.

He has also said that he doesn’t feel (feel being the operative word here) that God has been in his life. Because he has been fed this experiential garbage he figures that he should be feeling what others claim they are feeling. But because he does not; he doubts that there is God, fullstop end of story.

I know and understand that faith has nothing to do with feelings but everything to do with taking God at His Word and believing it. Feelings are fickle, but Gods Word is true. Dad use to be able to argue and debate anyone who doubted in the inerrancy of God’s Word. Now he doesn’t believe in any of it.

Can you please pray!

I know that myself as well as other members of my family have had grave concerns for a long time concerning this church. I also know that my family members are praying for the right opportunity to present itself so to unmask the heresy that has been taught.

This will be discussed at some point in the family but this will certainly put my parents at severe odds with one another. Mum wants Dad to simply come back to the Church, while myself and the other members of my family want my Dad to remember his first love through the Word of God.

Yes my parents are at odds at the moment, but I think that during this time of Dad’s wilderness God can really get him back to His Word and teach him without all the background noise of nonsense.

Just to add to my point. Dad had ceased going to all the international speakers that were basically Holy Rollers, Mum on the other hand, always went with a friend. And I have just found out that these speakers are still getting people to roll in the isles with Holy Laughter etc., I had thought that this sort of behaviour was well and truly over with, obviously it’s not.

I recently went to my parents Church’s website to see who the next big speaker will be and what will be the next big fad to hit that Church. And this is what I have found!

A man by the name of Darrel E. Stott is going to be a guest speaker there in April. You can bet my Mum will be there with bells on.

Do you want to see what is happening in congregations when this Darrel E. Stott preaches … do you want to see what appears with this man as he travels the world?

Yes that’s right! Angels appear as orbs of light, Oh but may I point out that this photo happens to be taken in Alaska where there is snow falling! (now that is interesting).
The promotion on his website says this about Bishop Stott:

“There are many ministers who preach on the Glory of God but Darrel Stott is one of the few who are a carriers of the Glory of God“.

He is a carrier of the Glory of God hey?

Not only that, but if you’re in real need of some jewellery and need a bit of gold to make some, then you can melt together the gold that falls when you get it from one of the meetings! I wonder if they have silver as gold is just not my colour.

Regarding the words of Prophecy … Bishop Stott says this about it:

No one expects a prophet to be 100% accurate but it is reasonable to hold those with a prophetic ministry to some sort of accountability in regards to their directive and foretelling of future events.

Oh … but if the words coming from a prophets mouth are truely from God then wouldn’t they be 100% correct, or is God the liar?

My poor Dad no wonder he is in the wilderness, he hasn’t even been fed Manna, he is starving for real food.

  1. Hey Vee,

Looks to me like someone sneezed on Bishop Stotts camera once and they never bothered to clean it. I see he talks about the annointing of the false prophet William Branham.

I’ll continue to pray for your Dad.

  2. Wow, V, this is a lot deeper than you let on at first. Know that I will continue to hold your dad, you and your family in prayer.
A couple of things that do stand out is the idea of God being pushed around or bullied, and your dad’s thought that he should be “feeling” this communal experience at this church.
Of course, our Father the Creator of all, is immovable; it is man that moves.
Deuteronomy 32:3-5: “For I will proclaim the name of Jehovah: Ascribe ye greatness unto our God. The Rock, His work is perfect; for all His ways are justice: A God of faithfulness and without iniquity, just and right is He. They have dealt corruptly with Him, they are not His children, it is their blemish; they are a perverse and crooked generation.
Perhaps this is why your dad does not feel like he fits in with this crowd, he IS a child of God!
We are all corrupt, blemished, perverse and crooked before the cross, but Christ redeems us!
How we “feel” has nothing to do with it. I’m reminded of the words of preacher I heard once; “We do not worship God for the things He has done (experience, feelings), we worship God because HE IS GOD”, all this extreneous stuff like orbs and gold dust are just things; experiences. Jesus instructed His disciples to not rejoice in the things they had did, even in His name, but rather to rejoice that their names were written in the heavens (Luke 10:19-20).
I agree, sometimes we must get to a place where there is nothing between us and our Father, nothing between us and our redeemer. Remember the intimate conversation between Jesus and Peter in John 21:15-19?
I will pray for your mom as well.

  3. Thank you all for your prayers. I have also let Moriel know about this and have many people from that ministry praying.

The thing that strikes me is that myself as well as my brothers are praying for Dad to find his first love and to come to Gods Holy Word so that he can find the Truth.

Mum however, and her church family are praying for Dad to come back to the Church which is full of heresy and New Age/Occutic manifestations.

There is a spiritual battle going on and I am reminded of the armor that we are to wear when we pray. The first part of the armor is Truth as everything else just hangs on this. If you don’t have Truth then you cannot possibly have the Truth that saves you and sets you free.

So, with that in my mind I just wanted to share with you all the scripture that I have been given:

Eph 6:11 Put on all the armor of God, for you to be able to stand against the wiles of the Devil,
Eph 6:12 because wrestling against flesh and blood is not to us, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world’s rulers, of the darkness of this age, against the spiritual powers of evil in the heavenlies.
Eph 6:13 Because of this, take up all of the armor of God that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having worked out all things, to stand.
Eph 6:14 Then stand firm, “having girded your loins about with truth” and having put “on the breastplate of righteousness,” Isa. 11:5; 59:17
Eph 6:15 and having shod the feet with the preparation of the “gospel of peace.” Isa. 52:7
Eph 6:16 Above all, taking up the shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the darts of the evil one being kindled.
Eph 6:17 Also, take “the helmet of salvation,” and the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God; Isa. 59:17 LXX-Isa. 11:4; MT-Isa. 49:2; LXX and MT-Hos. 6:5
Eph 6:18 through all prayer and petition, praying at all times in the Spirit, and watching to this same thing with all perseverance and petition concerning all the saints.
Eph 6:19 Pray also for me, that to me may be given speech in the opening of my mouth with boldness to make known the mystery of the gospel,

The idea here may be, that as the girdle was the bracer up, or support of the body, so truth is suited to brace us up, and to gird us for constancy and firmness. The girdle kept all the parts of the armor in their proper place, and preserved firmness and consistency in the dress; and so truth might serve to give consistency and firmness to our conduct. “Great,” says Grotius, “is the laxity of falsehood; truth binds the man.” Truth preserves a man from those lax views of morals, of duty and of religion, which leave him exposed to every assault. It makes the soul sincere, firm, constant, and always on its guard. A man who has no consistent views of truth, is just the man for the adversary successfully to assail. Barnes

I think that the above scriptures are paramount to anyone who has lost their way because of heretical teachings and practices. It addresses the topic of truth and I pray that both my parents find the Truth in Gods Word and in His Word only.

  4. Hey Auntie V, I was shocked to hear this too – your Dad is the last person I ever thought this would happen too. However, I also do understand how being in that particular church for that amount of time can rock your faith – what I experienced there as a teenager was at times terrifying and I am thankful that I left with my faith intact.
I think my memory of the last time I was prayed for in that church says alot. The head pastor (you know who I mean) was praying for me, with his hand on my forehead. He started to push on my head, but I did not fall down, he pushed and pushed. He actually physically pushed me to the ground, no one caught me, and I hit my head on the cement floor. The pain was so bad I thought I would pass out. I knew then and there (as I had actually felt for months – but of course we had been preached to about those evil thoughts, so I had tried to ignore them) that was was happening was not of God, and I never recieved prayer there again. In fact, I think that was my last time in that church. I still feel shivers down my spine when I see that place.

I am praying for your Dad.

  5. Again thank you all for praying for my Dad. There is indeed a spiritual battle going on in the house of God! Please remember your battle armor.

Sarah, there are so many people who have been hurt by this so called ‘Move by God’.

I was talking to one of my brothers the other day, and he said that he still has major issues and feels guilty at times that he doesn’t believe that that particular move was a wonderful move from God. He (along with others) feels abused, spiritually abused.

He heard all the same things as you when you were told not to judge the move because to judge it would be blasphemy of the Holy Spirit and that is the unforgivable sin. He along with you and countless others around the world, lived in fear that they had committed the unforgivable sin because something in their spirit knew that this move just wasn’t right, but sadly guilt and fear kept him there … and it is still keeping people from actually knowing the truth. My mum being one of them … she does not even consider that the Pastor of the Church should even be examined by scripture. If he says it …. then it must be sound! Even though I have brought up many a times questions about each new fad to hit the Church and pointed out the errors is such teachings. She just looks at me blankly and says “well yes, I see what you mean” then she continues to blindly follow the latest and greatest fad without even a question! This is being willfully blind!

Sadly, this fear and guilt is still a big part for the continuation of this move … and some people may at times still feel this fear that has been installed into them as a teaching.

So, let me remind us all of this one verse that speaks about the love of God:

1Jo 4:16-19 And we have known and have believed the love which God has in us. God is love, and the one abiding in love abides in God, and God in him. By this, love has been perfected with us, that we have confidence in the day of judgment, that as He is, we are also in this world.
There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has punishment; and the one fearing has not been perfected in love. We love Him because He first loved us.

  6. This is another instance of the “falling away” spoken of regarding the last days…not a falling away from religion but a falling away from the truth.

  7. Sorry I didn’t get to finish what I was saying…I wasn’t speaking of your father falling away from the truth, but the speakers, churches and doctrine that has discouraged him so much. He is in our prayers also…God bless you!

  8. I will also pray for your dad, May the Lord Jesus Christ reveal His Light, His Life, and Truth to him, that his faith will be restored!
So many false prophets, false signs and wonders these days. Whatever is of God will produce good fruit, and abundant life.

May the Lord help us to be genuine in all we think, do and say for His honor and glory.

Blessings to you and your family,

  9. supernatural glory dust with the color of the rainbow? i’ve always suspected this stuff was glitter. a search of ezekiel 1 doesn’t find the word “gold”, at least not in the kjv. so why is that reference there?

  10. Hi oldbat, I also wondered why the reference to Ezekial 1 was there too. I actually have no idea why what it refers to that at all.

That particular scripture talks about the appearance of angels in all sorts of colours. Maybe he thinks that the gold rainbow colours are the angels???

One thing I am certain of though, is this is an extremely poor use of exegesis.

  13. In the last days, men will abandon the faith and follow teaching spirits and doctrines of demons. 1Tim 4:1

For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. No wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. Therefore it is not surprising if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness, whose end will be according to their deeds. 2 Cor 13-16

The truth about Orbs is that they are spiritual energy fields. It makes scientific sense that they are in a spherical shape. Because the human race is in a “fallen” condition they will only be able to have communion with similiar spirits. In the bible it is only those who are inwardly holy, who are visited and led into truth by angels. Just look at the 9/11 videos containing strange Orbs and birds and you can see that they are actively sowing fear, terror and deception in the world.

Your fathers use of the word “feel” clearly indicates that he needs to have some sort of sensory experience of God on which to to base his belief. The bible warns that we must walk by faith and not by sight/touch/feelings.

He is veering off the path into spiritism which is the antithisis of christian spirituality.
