About “Finding Truth in Jesus”

In 2006, I began to realize the church I was attending was quickly transitioning into an emergent church. I suppose that for awhile I ignored the signs, and hoped it wouldn’t get any worse.

The influence continued, and the final “straw that broke the camel’s back” was when the minister started teaching a series on contemplative prayer; which is simply transcendental meditation couched in Christian sounding terminology, but there’s nothing Christian about it.

I went to the minister to express my concern over this teaching, and gave him a copy of A Time Of Departing by Ray Yungen. To make a painfully long story short, I realized it was time to leave this congregation.

During the transition of leaving, I had opportunity to talk with several people about “spiritual formation”, the “emergent church”, and “contemplative prayer”, but I was frustrated with the number of websites I would refer people to for more information on these subjects.

I had wished I had one simple web address to refer people to, where they could get ample information, but also be directed to the vast wealth of data located on other websites. That desire led to the creation of this website.

It’s about the Journey NOT the Destination?

I just perused over to one of my favourite blogs “More Books and Things” and Carla’s latest post was a real eye popper!

I was really just hoping that Mr Ken Wilber would fade into the background… but no, he’s going on a very long journey…

Get this – Ken Wilber and friends will be setting out on a five year journey to find their Unique Selves through integrated perspectives of Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, New Spirituality, Integral Psychology, etc. AND…after finding their unique selves, they will be given help identifying the practices needed to uncover their deepest and truest Self.

Read the rest at – More Books and Things…: Latest Global Things Bell’s Fav Author is up to

Now… you may ask why is this concerning me at all? Well I’ll tell you. Men like Brian McLaren and Rob Bell [as well as others] are leaders of the emergent church and are way into this guy! Yep, these guys are really going to try and change the face of Christianity. Really… to be honest with you, it’s not traditional Christianity but it IS Gnosticism!

Just take a look at Ken Wilber’s take on the “Future of Christianity”…

In fact Ken Wilber and Father Thomas Keating have a DVD set that you can buy to understand this new form of Christianity…Do you want to bring your Christian faith into alignment with the modern world? You are among friends. We also left the traditional church and looked for a different kind of relationship with God in many places, before we re-discovered this new vision of Christianity taught by Father Thomas Keating and Ken Wilber. We are so excited by what they shared with us that we created The Future of Christianity DVD set to introduce these inspiring concepts to individuals like you who are seeking a new kind of modern relationship with Jesus Christ.

About a journey:

I therefore sought to outline a philosophy of universal integralism. Put differently, I sought a world philosophy—or an integral philosophy—that would believably weave together the many pluralistic contexts of science, morals, aesthetics, Eastern as well as Western philosophy, and the world’s great wisdom traditions. Not on the level of details—that is finitely impossible; but on the level of orienting generalizations . . . a holistic philosophy for a holistic Kosmos, a genuine Theory of Everything. —Ken Wilber (TOE, p. 38).

Ken Wilber believes that the truth can be found not in a truth but in seeking the truth. He calls it “Integral Methodological Pluralism” which, simply put means — everybody is right! They are right because in their quest for the good the true and beautiful no human mind is capable of producing 100% error. So, the quest itself is not to find who is right or wrong, but rather to find a way that all various truths can fit together. Each personal way for the truth seeker therefore becomes an important piece to fit into the puzzle. This is all found in one of his books called “The sociable God” this book emphasizes an holistic approach in becoming a whole. Holism means that: the Whole is better than the sum of its parts. If you apply this to the quest or the journey of the truth seeker, then you can see that the journey actually becomes the destination of truth. Little wonder then that the labyrinths lead to nowhere, it is the journey, not the destination that is the all important goal.

About this five year Journey:

Integral Spiritual Experience has been designed as a circular 5 year journey that moves from the deeply personal in year 1, proceeds through the universal in year 3, and returns back again to the personal in year 5.  Each year ends with the foundation lain for the following year, and the entire 5 year process recapitulates the dialectical arc of human spiritual exploration and practice itself. [source]

I can tell you one thing. They are not going to change the real bride of Christ, the remnant Church,that is for sure. The gates of Hell will not prevail [Mat 16:18].

If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck!

New Age Terminology within the Church

I just came across something that may be of help to you… a pdf file outlining some of the New Age terms being used within the apostate church.

I wonder if you have heard these terms being used in church, or have even read some of them in certain books recently? Obviously context is important. So this file outlines the traditional meaning and compares it with the misleading meaning. The misleading meaning is used to lead a change of thought towards the real meaning.

Example:

Revival:

The Traditional Meaning – Stirring up religious faith among those who have been indifferent.

The Misleading Meaning – An experience-based event in which people profess change, make decisions, encounter phenomena, or undergo catharsis.

The Real Meaning -  A global transformation of the church in which people are subject to experience-based events through occult influences and/or smoke and mirrors.

So… you may want to check out the file and see if you have heard, read or discussed these terms at all.

The salt has lost its saltiness…

An interesting article written by Danny Isom about the Church and how it has changed having lost its way and has fallen away from truth straight into apostasy…

Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first…” (1 Th. 2:3)

Statistically speaking there is currently no discernible difference on almost any moral issue between those who claim the label “Christian” and those who don’t. The divorce rate is the same, the abortion rate is the same, attitudes about homosexuality are no longer hugely different, and on and on and on. I know there are individual exceptions here and there – I’m speaking, however, about the overall picture. I believe we’ve reached the point where the church is no longer the salt of the earth as described in Matthew 5:13.

Now I’ve said all of this, believe it or not, in order to provide the framework for a greater observation having to do with the arrival of the Antichrist. [source]

After reading the article and reflecting on what you see is happening in society — including what books now grace Christian book stores –  do you think that the Church has become less salty?

The Message – a mystical one…

Just a few things that I am reading today. To start with, have you ever wondered what it means to be vigilant? Carla has, and found something which will really make you consider if you are indeed being vigilant during these latter days or not.

jesus Talking about vigilance… have you or one of your friends and family been reading “The Message” by Eugene Peterson. Although most people are aware that this book is not considered a translation of the bible but rather a paraphrase, this message omits a certain name – a name above all names!

Php 2:6-11  In God’s own form existed he, And shared with God equality, Deemed nothing needed grasping. Instead, poured out in emptiness, A servant’s form did he possess, A mortal man becoming. In human form he chose to be, And lived in all humility, Death on a cross obeying. Now lifted up by God to heaven, A name above all others given, This matchless name possessing. And so, when Jesus’ name is called, The knees of everyone should fall Where’er they are residing. Then every tongue in one accord, Will say that Jesus Christ is Lord, While God the Father praising.

Carla has many good links that point out the mystical side of “The Message”. Be sure to check out the last link in her post about “Master Jesus” as opposed to “Lord Jesus”. Food for thought in her post for sure.

You can check out some of the differences between “The Message” and a literal translation HERE.

Emergent" or "Emerging"? Is there a difference?

emergent-cartoon

Just came across this article about the negligible differences between “Emergent” and ‘”Emerging”…

Jones and Pagitt have also clearly crossed the line from biblical to New Age type teachings. Thus, when a church, such as RockHarbor Church, says they are not emergent, they mean they do not agree with some of the more extreme views such as McLaren’s view on salvation. But these churches will often readily say, "We are an emerging church." They say that means they are merely being relevant to the culture so they can reach the post-modern generation.

On the outside, it can sometimes appear that these "emerging churches" are just as orthodox as any other Bible-believing church. Online doctrinal statements and many sermons will sound no different from a Bible-based church. But more often than not when the outer layers are peeled back from these "emerging churches," a mystical-based, kingdom-now, panentheistic view of "God" is revealed. And this, dear friend, is no different from the view of "God" that the Emergent leaders (McLaren, Jones, Pagitt, etc) hold to as well. And this is why we say emergent and emerging are in fact kindred spirits–and they are going in the same direction, even if at times, it appears they are on different paths. Quote taken from – Emergent" or "Emerging"? Makes No Difference – Going in the Same Direction – Away from Truth toward Deception

Seriously, the more I learn about these type of Churches and if the above is true, the more I realise that they are about to be engaging in universalism. Which to me strikes me as a great way to bring every religion together under one big happy One World Religion thing!

If you are not sure what Universalism is all about and if you are not sure if it is biblical visit HERE.

Here are a few bible verses that speak directly opposite to Universalism…

  • "Enter by the narrow gate; for the gate is wide, and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and many are those who enter by it. 14"For the gate is small, and the way is narrow that leads to life, and few are those who find it," (Matt. 7:13-14).
  • "For many are called, but few are chosen," (Matt. 22:14).
  • "And He was passing through from one city and village to another, teaching, and proceeding on His way to Jerusalem. 23And someone said to Him, "Lord, are there just a few who are being saved?" And He said to them, 24"Strive to enter by the narrow door; for many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able. 25"Once the head of the house gets up and shuts the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock on the door, saying, ‘Lord, open up to us!’ then He will answer and say to you, ‘I do not know where you are from.’ 26"Then you will begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in Your presence, and You taught in our streets’; 27and He will say, ‘I tell you, I do not know where you are from; depart from Me, all you evildoers,’" (Luke 13:22-27).
  • "And Isaiah cries out concerning Israel, "Though the number of the sons of Israel be as the sand of the sea, it is the remnant that will be saved; 28for the Lord will execute His word upon the earth, thoroughly and quickly," (Rom. 9:27).

At the very least we should be awake during the times in which we live. We should be as wise as serpents and innocent as doves.

Mat 10:16  "Behold, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves.

After all… to be forewarned is to be forearmed.

Contemplating the all inclusive…

Hear for yourself what contemplation prayer is really all about from one who endorses it! Dr. Gerald May speaks about this in – “Introduction to Contemplative Prayer”.

http://store.shalem.org/download/audio/intro_to_contemplative_prayer.mp3

He states that the word contemplation means complete, pure, presence. Immediately we must awake and we will find ourselves through this practice open to everything in the world and each other and to the divine presence that has always available to each and every one of us. He says that contemplation needs to have a person who will respond to whatever message they receive. It means cutting through our impulses, behaviours, our agendas patterns and our conditioned behaviour patterns, moving directly into the all pervasive and all inclusive god.  We must actually will ourselves to receive it. As children of god it is our birth right we have already received it. We must now will ourselves to acknowledge it. We must be receptive and responsive to it.

He goes on to say that there is no knowledge or understanding that can save us. He says that we must be radically open to what the spirit might call for. He goes on to say that sometimes you need to attend to your breath or silently repeat a holy word over and over again; that is all that is needed to help us to just simply be. We should only do this to get to the state of ‘simply be’ which is only use to facilitate the full presence of the all inclusive, pervasive spirit.

This mp3 was found on a site called ‘The Shalem Institute’ where you can also find an abundance of ecumenical and interfaith contemplative sites that have been promoted on their site.

Here are just a few sites…

The Contemplative Society

http://www.contemplative.org
The Contemplative Society is an inclusive non-profit association that encourages a deepening of contemplative prayer based in the Christian tradition while also welcoming and being supportive of other meditation traditions.  We offer a consistent and balanced path for spiritual growth and transformation rooted in prayer, silence, mindful work, and in the 1500-year-old wisdom of our Benedictine contemplative heritage.

Interesting to note that at the above site there is a book published by “Shambhala Publications” called “The Wisdom Jesus“. Willis Barnstone has the following to say about the book… “Bourgeault centers her expansive house of wisdom in the sayings and extraordinary death of the gospel Jesus as she turns light and darkness into a living poetry of self-emptying vision.”—Willis Barnstone, author of  The Other Bible, coauthor of The Gnostic Bible.

Shambhala Publications deals only with books that are esoteric in nature. For more about what they endorse see HERE.

For those who don’t understand what Shambhala is all about, basically it is a mythical kingdom. But it has been taught by Tibetan Buddhists, Zen masters and esoteric and eastern mystics for centuries…

In Tibetan Buddhist tradition, Shambhala (also spelled Shambala or Shamballa; Tibetan: bde ‘byung, pron. De-jung) is a mythical kingdom hidden somewhere in Tibet.

But more than that, it is an esoteric place where only enlightenment can be obtained…

Shamballa is known to be the only place of complete ‘peace’ and is the ‘centre where the will of God is known’, which is working through The spiritual Hierarchy of liberated human beings, known as Masters, and their disciples in the world, which makes this Hierarchy not a centre of peace but a very vortex of loving activity, and a meeting place of energies coming from the centre of the divine will (Shamballa), and from humanity, which is called the centre of divine intelligence. [source]

What we have now in the Church are teachers that call themselves ‘Spiritual Directors’. They offer to help us on our journey towards the contemplative life. One such site is called – ‘Spiritual Directors International’.  These directors are found all around the world and are an amalgamation of many faiths. They have entered into not only ecumenical conversation, but interfaith dialogue and are being promoted via the emerging Church.

Here is another link found from ‘The Shalem Institute’…

Pacific Center for Spiritual Formation

http://www.pcentersf.org

Since its beginnings in 1984, the Pacific Center for Spiritual Formation [PCSF] has sought to offer opportunities for individuals, groups, and congregations to experience a deeper awareness of God. Rooted in the Christian contemplative tradition, ecumenical in composition, and committed to interfaith practice, PCSF is a resource for contemplative enrichment in the San Francisco Bay area.

The Spiritual Directors International logo is explained to be all inclusive of other traditions, this light is our guidance that emerges in ministry and service of spiritual unity…

The Spiritual Directors International logo expresses the mission to “tend the holy around the world and across traditions.”  Light symbolizes holy guidance that emerges in the ministry and service of spiritual companionship.  The artwork for the logo was created by Alan Colavecchio for the first issue of Presence: An International Journal of Spiritual Direction.

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
Hebrew Scriptures, Psalm 119:105 (NRSV)

Just as a candle cannot burn without fire, humans cannot live without a spiritual life.
            Buddha [source]

So, there you have it. Contemplation prayer is something that is fast gaining ground within the Church and is practiced not just among Christians. People of almost every faith can be included in this type of meditation/prayer! This is truly leading up to a universal religion that could be celebrated world wide.

2Co 6:14-18 Be not unequally yoked with unbelievers: for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? or what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what portion hath a believer with an unbeliever?  And what agreement hath a temple of God with idols? for we are a temple of the living God; even as God said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore Come ye out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, And touch no unclean thing; And I will receive you, And will be to you a Father, And ye shall be to me sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

Unequally yoked:

G2086
ἑτεροζυγέω
heterozugeō
het-er-od-zoog-eh’-o
From a compound of G2087 and G2218; to yoke up differently, that is, (figuratively) to associate discordantly: – unequally yoke together with.

Communion:

G2842
κοινωνία
koinōnia
koy-nohn-ee’-ah
From G2844; partnership, that is, (literally) participation, or (social) intercourse, or (pecuniary) benefaction: – (to) communicate (-ation), communion, (contri-), distribution, fellowship.

Passing the Mantle – The New Generation

I haven’t done a ‘Red Flag’ post in awhile, so here you go, a ‘Red Flag’ post!!!

redflag1redflag1redflag1redflag1redflag1

There is a you-tube from ‘The Glory Generation’ of the new names and faces from the ”New Apostolic Reformers’. Familiar names like John Crowder, Patricia King, Bob Jones and others are part of this ‘New Glory Generation’. Just looking through their web-site it is very apparent to me that this crowd are dressing up mysticism and occultism and calling it Christian. They of course are latest leaders and teachers who are ushering in a kingdom of mysticism, gnosticism, occultism and Catholicism [just check out this post from Carla and follow the links, you will see the Catholic connection]. As Carla has pointed out, this is all about, trances, levitation, fits, interior prayer [just google 'interior castle' and 'Lectio Divina'] and other mystical experiences;  its roots are all based occultism and eastern religions.

According to John Crowder in his book ‘The Ecstasy of Loving God’, is that we are created for pleasure and that today the world is being shaken out of natural perception and into a highly awakened awareness of things yet unseen – the meta-reality. Angelic encounters, Jesus visitations and bizarre miracles are to be expected as this New Kingdom is awakened. This type thinking is intricately woven right through this ‘Glory Generation and New Apostolic Reformation’.

Interestingly, John Crowder has a bit of a dig at Rick Warren and the purpose-driven church when he writes…God will not have for Himself a purpose-driven Church, but a spirit-driven one…He is looking for lovers, not do-gooders. Then he throws in some Kabala teaching when he says…people are being caught up in the Spirit today, who have access back through the fiery seraphim who guard the ‘tree of life’.  He speaks about the ancient paths of Eden and about the New Wine and Standing in the Gap. He says that a revolution on the rise and that the face of Christianity is going to change. That we the Church must bring the Kingdom of Heaven down to earth! [Yet the bible says that complete opposite. It is not the Church that brings in the Kingdom but Christ at his second coming will bring it and He will rule the earth from Jerusalem for 1000 years. Christ says that His Kingdom is not of this world]

For this mystic Kingdom to be released Crowder says that there must be a generation of prophetic seers — he obviously assumes that he is one of them, and I actually think that he is just one of the many that will infiltrate the Church. These seers supposedly live suspended between the earth and sky. He believes that visionary seers will be caught up in this state for weeks at a time in what he calls ’spiritual sojourns’. Then he speaks of ‘Open Visions’ of Jesus [google that]. He says that followers of Wicca, New Age, and the Occult are being challenged in the streets in radical power much like Elijah was in the bible. HE ADMITS THAT!

He writes that Angelic Encounters will happen all the more, and where it is not happening there will be ‘Frameworks’ put in place that will allow this to happen! One wonders what kind of ‘Frameworks’ he is speaking about, it is a question worth asking yourself.

He speaks about God birthing people into war zones as Heaven invades the earth! This brings to mind the scriptures of spiritual warfare and how we don’t battle against the flesh…

Eph 6:12  For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world-rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

He writes that soon there will be a ‘Corporate Trance’ that will be required to press into the areas God is calling His Church. He speaks that before Christ returns in the natural, His glory is to return to the Church in Spirit. This is a common New Age idea, which has its roots in the occult. Jesus is often called the ‘Cosmic Christ Consciousness’ within the New Age circles. This is called ‘over spiritualization’ of the scripture.

Here is a good rebuttal on the New Age Cosmic Christ written by Ron Rhodes…

“Who do you say I am?” (Luke 9:20, NIV) The question was first asked of Peter by Christ nineteen centuries ago, and has continued since then to the present day to be the litmus test of spiritual authenticity. Perhaps never in the history of the Christian church has this question been more relevant than it is today. One reason for this is that New Agers have taken the New Testament sculpture (if you will) of Christ, crafted an esoteric/mystical chisel, and hammered away at this sculpture until a completely new image has been formed.

The new sculpture is one that fits nicely on a display shelf with sculptures of Buddha, Krishna, and other “holy men.” This Christ is broad-minded and nonjudgmental. He is a “Master” among “Masters,” who – with the others – is leading the human race into a New Age of enlightenment and harmony.

Jesus Christ will come again in glory. In contrast with the New Age idea that the coming of Christ is contingent on man’s ability to prepare the earth spiritually for this coming, Scripture says that Christ is coming as King of kings and Lord of lords, and man has power neither to invoke His coming nor to prevent it (Rev. 19:16). The phrase “King of kings and Lord of lords” emphasizes His supreme sovereignty and authority over mortal, weak man.[source]

Anyway… here is the you-tube, take note of the names and faces and arm yourselves by being prepared…

Oh before I go…how’s this for a site… Pretty much every name and recent heretical movement has been documented HERE …as far as I can tell anyway. I think this is just a site that crawls the latest news on anything! But there are lot of links and tags that you can use to do your own research on this matter.

  • Geographical Heresies of the New Apostolic Reformation

    The new doctrines arising out of the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) have much to do with a theology of the spirituality of the land. Among these newly concocted heresies are:

Many paths…the journey

By the by… my last post HERE, I very briefly pointed to some links about Ravi Zacharias and his connections and his endorsement of Catholic Mystic Henri Nouwen. In that post I never made any commentary because Ken Silva has done an excellent job in researching this, so nothing more really needs to be said from me, and it is just up to the discerning reader of the little blog to go check out and do their homework.

In putting up that post, I wanted to find a picture that somehow related to the ecumenical path (the many paths) that Ravi Zacharias is now travelling on. So, in googling Henri Nouwen I happened to find this picture that Nouwen illustrated to be quite interesting. It really does illustrate the many paths leading to the same thing, don’t you think?

Anyway, here is more information on Henri Nouwen written by Pastor Ken Silva of Apprising Ministries.

The signs of the times…

Kundalini5x7

[hat-tip LaVrai.com]

I remember hearing about this guy years ago…

LOS ANGELES, Dec 12, 2008 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ — For years the world has been filled with miracles of all kinds. In April 1995 Time magazine devoted an eight-page spread to its cover story on miracles and concluded: “People are hungry for signs.” Look now for the biggest miracle of all. In the very near future a large, bright star will appear in the sky visible to all throughout the world — night and day. Unbelievable? Fantasy? No, a simple fact. Around a week later, Maitreya, the World Teacher for all humanity, will begin his open emergence and — though not yet using the name Maitreya — will be interviewed on a major US television program.

[...]Awaited by all faiths under different names, Maitreya is the Christ to Christians, the Imam Mahdi to Muslims, Krishna to Hindus, the Messiah to Jews, and Maitreya Buddha to Buddhists. He is the World Teacher for all, religious or not, an educator in the broadest sense.

I have been to the Share International website and at first I thought that this Maitreya was a bit of a joke. Benjamin Creme is the one preparing the way for this so called ‘Messiah’. But if this guy is starting to get international press, then who knows where his teaching will lead and who will follow?

The following signs that accompany him supposedly show the world that he is the ‘real deal’ , they include:

Memoirs of an Emergent Church Victim

Interesting…

Memoirs of an Emergent Church Victim by Heidi Swander The two pastoral search committee members I spoke with assured me there would be no problem. Making certain that a new pastoral candidate was firmly grounded in Scripture, acutely aware of the Emergent Church, and stood squarely against it would be at the top of the list of attributes to look for in a new senior pastor. Hey — they said they even had an Emergent Church watchdog on the committee. What could go wrong? Plenty.

Interpreting scripture through the eyes of ‘Social Justice’ – Eisegesis.

Remember that the term ’social justice’ changes with the times [see Zeitgiest]. Ancient Greece not only encouraged pederasty, they institutionalised it. They considered it as a way for men to instill virtue in young boys. Although the sexual side of the relationship was the most infamous part of it, it was also a spiritual relationship as well. So today’s ’social justice’ is just today’s, we don’t know what tomorrows will hold or change into.

A Glimpse of tomorrow:

Currently we do see a Pro-pedophile activist movement going on.  Social justices are subjective and shift with the sands of time.

~~~
My point is that it is very dangerous to interpret the scripture using the current lens of ’social justice’, scripture should be interpreted by using an historical-grammatical exegetical method…
It’s all about ME, isn’t it???
The first one from Carla called An Absurd Thing.  She quotes one bible verse from two very different bibles.  The first is the KJV:
Matthew 16:25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. (KJV)
The second is from The Message:
…Self-help is no help at all. Self-sacrifice is the way, my way, to finding yourself, your true self…
Right??? The paraphrase from The Message is completely off, way off.
Let him deny himself – Απαρνησασθω may well be interpreted, Let him deny, or renounce, himself fully – in all respects – perseveringly. It is a compounded word, and the preposition απο abundantly increases the meaning. A follower of Christ will need to observe it in its utmost latitude of meaning, in order to be happy here, and glorious hereafter. A man’s self is to him the prime cause of most of his miseries. [Adam Clarke]
Then I meander over to Sola Dei Gloria blog and she has a guest poster by the name of Mrs Bucket; she writes an absolutely beautiful testimony of how God can be found in The Hard Places. Of this she writes as her mum struggles with great sickness in her life…
Have you ever really thought about the fact that in order to come into his Temple in the old Testament, his dwelling place you needed to make a sacrifice?
God can heal, God can perform any miracle that suits him but maybe, just maybe your blessing is in something hard, difficult even. Maybe if we stopped looking for a way out we could finally get into the holy of holies, really see his face and his desire for us.
Then she quotes…
Oswald Chambers said “Our Lord’s teaching is always anti-self-realization. His purpose is not the development of man, His purpose is to make a man exactly like Himself, and the characteristic of the Son of God is self-expenditure.”
Can you see the difference, The Message is a humanitarian message, it says you must find YOURself, your true self. Yet the gospel is clear in saying that we must sacrifice OURself in order to find a new created Christ-like self:
1 Corinthians 11:1 “Be imitators of me, just as I also am of Christ.”
Ephesians 5:1 Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children…”
1 Thessalonians 1:6 “You also became imitators of us and of the Lord…”
Doing this is something that comes with spiritual maturity I think, and I am having a little giggle to myself considering my morning with a certain family member; I lover her dearly, God Bless her.
Can I say…It’s not all about US! We have to grow up and step out of our own little universe.  We can’t be babies [or teens] for the rest of our lives now can we!
That is my morning musing…
About the emerging church by Matt Slick
Matt Slick from CARM [Founder of the Christian Apologetics and Research Ministry] has done quite a bit of research on the Emerging Church and I found that it is very balanced. If you are interested in learning about this topic, I would suggest this is a good place to start…
If you thought of emerging churches on a scale from good to bad, you’d have churches filling in the whole thing.  Some are so liberal they might not be Christian while others are extremely orthodox doctrinally.  The movement has a wide variety of pastors, church styles, theological positions, and methods for reaching the lost.  So, it is isn’t appropriate to lump the whole emerging church into one huge mound and condemn or approve of the whole.  We need to look at individuals and churches and not judge the whole by the words of a few.  I agree with D. A. Carson who said,
“because the emerging church movement is remarkably diverse, penetrating criticisms that apply to one part of it are sometimes inappropriate to other parts… the things I find encouraging and hopeful in the movement are not found everywhere in the movement.”
GOOD within the movement
BAD within the movement
Contextualize the Gospel Watering down the Gospel
Speak the cultural language Use culture to dominate the message
Different media of expression and focus Media used in unbiblical ways
Provides absolutes in a non absolute world Absolutes of doctrine are optional
Focused attempt to reach the lost Reaching the lost trumps truth statements
This blog was created as an attempt to do our part in challenging the status quo and co-dependent mentality that is so pervasive in Americans and even more so American Christians. Through a variety of literary styles, we will offer commentary from a Biblical perspective and world view. To us, there is no subject that is taboo and our goal is to write in such a way that it would cause all who read to examine what they believe and why.
Alien Disclosure 8-8-8
fastwalkersThis is a RED FLAG post.
As you probably know, I have been recently following the ins and outs of alien disclosure by groups like Exopolitics and Disclosure Project.
Exopolitics has announced a world wide plan called ‘Galactic Freedom Day’ in hopes of full government disclosure concerning the Nephilim Aliens. [please note: the Vatican has already disclosed that aliens could well be our space brothers who are without sin, yet the bible says that Jesus is the only person without sin] 8/8/8 is a noted day in hopes to incite public pressure on governments all around the world to disclose all they know about UFOs and Aliens.
Not sure how this will pan out, but I am sure that whatever happens the ‘Strong delusion’ prophesied in the bible will become even stronger. The Church may even become more adulteress and we may even have more strange signs and wonders as biblical discernment is thrown out of the window! As in the days of Noah eh?
One Week Before Galactic Freedom Day Event to End Secret Extraterrestrial Agreements
[Kona, Hawaii - August 1, 2008 ] A multinational consortium of citizen organizations next week conduct a positive intention event concerning secret government and corporate agreements involving extraterrestrial life and technology. On 8/8/08 individuals and small groups around the planet will convene to celebrate the inaugural Galactic Freedom Day. This will be the first in a series of annual global events that aim to expose and nullify secret agreements concerning extraterrestrial life.
According to event organizers, the event on 08/08/08 will start the process of ending agreements concerning extraterrestrial life that have been secretly entered into by a range of government authorized agencies, departments and corporations. In some cases, these pacts involve representatives of advanced extraterrestrial civilizations whose existence has not been disclosed to the general public. Evidence of these secret agreements, as well as the full text of the Declaration, special Galactic Freedom Day events schedules, and an online petition are available at the official website: www.GalacticFreedomDay.com
A Galactic Freedom Day Declaration has been issued by cooperating citizen organizations clearly expressing humanity’s intent to put an end to secret agreements concerning extraterrestrial life.
The Galactic Freedom Day event will be globally coordinated to occur simultaneously at 8 pm Universal Time which is 4 pm U.S. Eastern Daylight Time, 1 pm U.S. Pacific Time, 10 pm Central European Time, and 6 am, Australia East Coast Time. By the way, Australia reaches the 8/8/8 before some of the readers of this blog… I will let you know if contact has been made. [Sarcasm noted].
After reading quite a bit about the Nephilim/Watchers/Sumerian Anunnaki/ Biblical Anaki/Grigori from the book of Enoch and Jubilees and other texts I noticed that these visitors shared technology with mankind .
On a parchment fragment 4Q201(En ara) copied ca. 200-150 B.C.E. found at Qumrum: Other texts
13. [They (the leaders) and all ... of them took for themselves] wives from all that they chose and [they began to cohabit with them and to defile themselves with them]; and to teach them sorcery and [spells and the cutting of roots; and to acquaint them with herbs.] And they become pregnant by them and bo[re (great) giants three thousand cubits high ...]
- Book of Enoch (from Translation by J. C. Greenfield
“Later Jewish tradition has it that their seduction was at least partly their own fault since they had taught the girls the art of cosmetics, and so had begun the awful progress of mankind to degeneracy and sexual abandon. More important, ‘they taught them charms and enchantments, the cutting of roots, and make them acquainted with plants…” (Enoch 7:1ff).”
Are modern day aliens promising mankind the same thing, some form of secret knowledge?
I will leave that question for you to ponder.
The Bride is getting ready to present herself!
I have posted heaps on the division of the Church in regards to the Todd – bam, bam – Bentley fiasco who is endorsed by the totally heretical and unbiblical Elijah – occultic – List. Of that, most of the readers of this personal blog are painfully and prayerfully aware of the Churches sad condition.
Some, unfortunately, are going along with unbiblical practices which have never been part of the faith that was once delivered to the saints — biblically speaking that is. To endorse their unbiblical practices you will find that most refer to the ‘desert fathers’ and Catholic mystics who practiced a form of contemplative/centering prayer often called Lectio Divina. In doing this they have crossed the line and have now stepped outside of biblical boundaries that have been clearly set out for us in the New Testament.
Jud 1:3-4 Beloved, although I was very eager to write to you about our common salvation, I found it necessary to write appealing to you to contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints. For certain people have crept in unnoticed who long ago were designated for this condemnation, ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into sensuality and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.
On another front is the issue of ordaining gay bishops in the Anglican Church. This again is causing a separation of sorts within Christendom. This separation being witnessed is horrific as it is not a pretty sight to see any form of amputation, but perhaps it is God sorting out his House because He wants His bride as pure and virginal as she should be.
1Pe 4:17 For the time is come for judgment to begin at the house of God: and if it begin first at us, what shall be the end of them that obey not the gospel of God?
‘Heretic’: The first openly gay bishop is pilloried in the pulpit by a long-haired heckler
The world’s first openly gay Anglican bishop was heckled last night as he gave a sermon at a church in London.
The Right Reverend Gene Robinson, the American churchman whose appointment as Bishop of New Hampshire triggered a devastating split among Anglican leaders, was branded a ‘heretic’ by the lone protester.
The long-haired heckler repeatedly jabbed his finger and shouted ‘repent, repent, repent’.
He said the bishop ‘preached the Gospel but departed from it’ and claimed it was he who was behind the schism.
The bishop had to halt his sermon as a slow hand-clap by members of the congregation began in response to the heckling.
Shaking to bring the house of God down!
For a long time now I have thought that there is a type of shaking in the Church that is very much like the kundalini serpent being aroused. The more I research and listen to the teaching that comes from the lips of such spiritually suspect influences, the more I see that it is NOT the Word of God, but rather occultism/spiritism close to the what the ecstatics experienced and wrote about.
I find it interesting to say the least that a lot of these people have endorsed what they do because the early Church, meaning Catholic here, have always had their ecstatics. John Crowder is one such fellow who speaks highly of the ecstatics. He, I think, has gone one step further into relating to today’s culture with a post-modern cutting edge to attract the youth.
As the apostate Church finds her way back to the Church of Rome in ecumenical — and obviously now — interfaith unity we will witness an increase in teaching that has been gleaned from the early ecstatics.
Also you can find ecstatics in all faiths. This could well be the the unifying factor of all faiths.
Wayne Teasdale writes in Mysticism as the Crossing of Ultimate Boundaries A Theological Reflection
Interspirituality3 is a term to describe the breaking-down of the barriers that have separated the religions for millennia. It is also the crossing-over and the sharing in the spiritual, aesthetic, moral and psychological treasures that exist in the different traditions of spirituality living within the world religions. The deepest level of sharing is in and through one another’s mystical wisdom, whether teachings, insights, methods of spiritual practice, and their fruits, The mystical life, in its maturity, is characteristically, naturally, even organically interspiritual because of the inner freedom and liberation the mystical Journey ignites I in the depths of the person. It frees us from the obstacles within us that would hold us back from that generosity and willingness to partake from the mystical springs of other traditions. To drink this precious nectar requires openness and a capacity to assimilate the depth experience of these venerable traditions. More and more it is becoming common for individuals to cross over the frontiers of their own faith into the land of another or others. So much so is this the case that we can speak of this new millennial period as the Interspiritual Age. This development is momentous news for the human family because up until this point humankind has been divided, segregated into spiritual ghettos. Out of this separation has come so much misunderstanding and thousands of wars sparked by mutual suspicion, isolation, competition and hostility.
I have found this site called “The Council on Spiritual Practices”… which is a collaboration among spiritual guides, experts in the behavioral and biomedical sciences, and scholars of religion, dedicated to making direct experience of the sacred more available to more people. There is evidence that such encounters can have profound benefits for those who experience them, for their neighbors, and for the world.
If you want to read any articles from the movers and shakers, this looks like a good place to start.
