This post is just to indulge my ***ahem***… artistic side. I have just had some film developed from two different cameras. One is the Holga 135BC which actually broke not long after I went to a Japanese Garden to take some shots. I loved that camera and I think I may buy another one. Holga and I had something quite special. She was my first love as far as the plastic fantastic lomography goes.
The other one is my new Diana F+, which is actually a camera that uses a 120 film format. I have been using a 35mm film it it… consequently, most of the photos have 1/3rd of the image missing. Oh dear… I have to get use to this camera and I will persist with it, I will NOT give up. But before I even consider ending our relationship, I simply must try the 120 format because that is what the camera is designed to use. The advantage of the Diana is that it comes with a flash and you can take of the lens and use it as a pinhole. Which is what I really want to do eventually. The other thing with the Diana is that you can buy other lenses that just clip on, such as fisheye, macro etc…, so it is a lot more versatile — that is what I think anyway.
Both cameras are plastic, including the lens, so you get this very dreamy look to the photos. You get unusual light leaks and vignetting which just adds an old look to the photo which digital cameras can’t even come close, no matter how much photo-shopping people try.
Anyway, here are some shots with the Holga…
