abortion

As long as there is breath in my body I will always speak out against all forms of abortion be it early term or partial birth abortions and now we have The Born Alive Victims Act to which a certain politician voted against. Those babies do not have a voice, but I do! I really don’t see a difference in early termination to late term abortion. My last post showed you a video of an ultrasound image of a twelve week old baby struggling violently against the doctors suction tube which rips this baby apart limb to limb. The baby heartbeat doubles in rate, the baby opens its mouth as if to scream and tries to escape its impeding death!

abortion9aI don’t care what particular leaders in our society are in favour of this silent holocaust. Whether they are politicians of the charismatic nature on either side of the political fence or ministers who are so liberal in their biblical theology that they have watered down the Word of God to better suit their sensibilities. Aargh!!! I think I want to throw up when I think of such ministers of the faith who have become so spineless that they fear man rather than God! I have absolutely no respect for such people! None!

To be sure, if you speak out against the accepted social norm in any way you will be called a right wing extremist and labelled a moron, idiot and many other things that do not bare repeating on my blog. The fact is, abortion is murder and it does kill babies. By the time a mother finds out that she is pregnant, chances are the baby’s heart is already beating! Is that life or not?

Anyway, in my research in regards to this most horrible topic I have come across a name that you may or may not have heard of — Margaret Sanger. She was a staunch racist and she had an agenda…

The strategy:

Convince the targeted community to accept their eugenic racist plan by selecting one from their ethnicity to promote it.  One of Planned Parenthood’s earliest known projects was in 1939.  It was called the “Negro Project” — a project designed to control the birth of "human weeds" which was how Margaret Sanger referred to colored people; a project designed to introduce abortion, sterilization and different forms of birth control.  This is what a co-eugenic wrote to Margaret Sanger to make sure the "Negro Project" was a success:

Clarence Gamble, heir of Proctor and Gamble, wrote a memorandum in November, 1939 entitled: "Suggestions for the Negro Project."  In the letter he suggested black leaders “be placed in positions where it would appear they were in charge."

This is a letter to Clarence Gamble, from Margaret Sanger, in which she wrote,

"We should hire three or four colored ministers, preferably with social-service backgrounds, and with engaging personalities.  The most successful educational approach to the Negro is through a religious appeal.  We don’t want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members."

For those of you that don’t know, Barack Obama became a "minister" of Planned Parenthood a long time ago.  He’s so good at carrying out their racist, murderous, agenda against Afro-Americans and society at large, they gave him a 100% score on his voting record.  Planned Parenthood is following the strategy of their racist founder, Margaret Sanger, to the letter.

[…]

Pam Sutherland … of … Illinois Planned Parenthood … told ABC News, "We worked with him specifically on his strategy.  The Republicans were in control of the Illinois Senate at the time.  They loved to hold votes on ‘partial birth’ and ‘born alive.’ They put these bills out all the time because they wanted to pigeonhole Democrats. …"

Let me interpret.  We, Planned Parenthood, told him what to say, and how to say it, so we could continue to kill infants; babies, just a few inches from birth, and those completely out of the womb that we missed!  Our "colored minister" was well prepared by Planned Parenthood.  Partial Birth abortion — which I will not describe here — but know that 80% of Americans don’t want this barbaric act practiced in this country – Barack Obama voted to keep legal!  The Born Alive Victims Act is a law to protect a child that was born alive after a botched abortion; a law that would require that the child would receive medical assistance.  Barack Obama voted against it! Yes.  Barack Obama, with an "engaging personality" is being used by the leading abortion provider in the United States to promote and execute infanticide of predominately minority babies!

UN Petition for the Unborn Child Re-Launched, Seeks One Million Names » Catholic Family and Human Rights Institute

This is a good thing!

(WASHINGTON, DC – C-FAM)  An international coalition of pro-life and pro-family groups has re-launched a petition that is expected to gather one million signatures in support of the unborn child and the traditional family.
Groups from the United States, Poland, Spain and other European counties launched the petition last fall and at that time gathered nearly 500,000 signatures, which were presented to selected Ambassadors at the United Nations (UN) and at a UN press conference that was broadcast throughout UN headquarters. The groups included C-FAM [publisher of the Friday Fax], Concerned Women for America, United Families International, all from  the United States, along with the Polish Federation of Pro-life Groups and the Spanish Institute for Family Policy. A prominent parliamentarian from Honduras also participated in the press conference.
The purpose of the petition is to persuade UN Member States to begin interpreting the Universal Declaration of Human Rights as protecting the unborn child from abortion and also to recognize traditional marriage and the right of parents to educate their children.

“STOP Animal Cruelty…

Their positions are:

  1. Animals have the right to life
  2. Animals cannot protect themselves against us, it is our duty to protect them
  3. Animals are an important part in our life development
  4. Take a stand for the innocent lives who can’t
  5. Saving the planet, one animal at a time

Yes, it is a good cause. But why doesn’t the larger society apply these very same positions to the millions of babies in the womb that have no choice about what their mother will do ?

Let’s just replace the word “animals” with the words “unborn babies” shall we…abortion9a

  1. Unborn babies have the right to life

Eating the unborn!

I just read the most disturbing article of all time…

~ Eating The Innocent ~ 3 1/2-week-old boy lay dismembered in the bedroom of a single-story house, three of his tiny toes chewed off, his face torn away, his head severed and his brains ripped out. Sanchez, mother, 33, apparently ate the child’s brain and some other body parts READ MORE >>> GRAPHIC!!!

This article is one of the most disturbing things I have EVER read. I had no idea that this happened.

The other thing I didn’t know is that in china they serve fetal soup [the above link shows you a photo of a full fetus floating in a bowl of soup, my guess is that the fetus is around 20-24 weeks].

That is soup made out of unborn children! How depraved is humanity? When it loses its value for life because of things like abortion and euthanasia, is it little wonder why society does not value the human life.

Between 7 and 14 million abortions are performed in China each year. When this story first broke, the major news media in America refused to mention it. Why, because it is the direct outcome from the abortion industry; an industry that this nation holds so dear. China receives $11-12 million annually from the UN Population Fund and International Planned Parenthood Federation, both of which receive major yearly support from the U.S. Government. Killing these babies also means there are more old people than younger ones. China is becoming top-heavy in elderly people. Killing the old ones will be the next step. I state this because with the onset of Obama’s cradle to grave health care, respect for human life is clearly not an issue. It is clear that in this nation we stand almost even with China in killing our young and soon to make preparations to kill our elderly and those with special needs.

You can read Obamas health care plans at the above link — but be warned there is a graphic photo!

This is not the first time in mans history that this type of think has happened. When Israel rejected God and His commandments they gave themself over to a reprobrate mind. They ate their children in broth too!!!

2 Kings 6:26-30 And as the king of Israel was passing by upon the wall, there cried a woman unto him, saying, Help, my lord, O king. And he said, If the LORD do not help thee, whence shall I help thee? out of the barnfloor, or out of the winepress? And the king said unto her, What aileth thee? And she answered, This woman said unto me, Give thy son, that we may eat him today, and we will eat my son tomorrow. So we boiled my son, and did eat him: and I said unto her on the next day, Give thy son, that we may eat him: and she hath hid her son. And it came to pass, when the king heard the words of the woman, that he rent his clothes; and he passed by upon the wall, and the people looked, and, behold, he had sackcloth within upon his flesh.

Now we have the same thing happening in our so called civilised world.

I am so sorry Lord!

Compulsory Abortion – Obama Administration…

NewWorld

Psa 139:13-16  For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.

The man President Obama has chosen to be his science czar once advocated a shocking approach to the “population crisis” feared by scientists at the time: namely, compulsory abortions in the U.S. and a “Planetary Regime” with the power to enforce human reproduction restrictions.

“There exists ample authority under which population growth could be regulated,” wrote Obama appointee John Holdren, as reported by FrontPage Magazine. “It has been concluded that compulsory population-control laws, even including laws requiring compulsory abortion, could be sustained under the existing Constitution if the population crisis became sufficiently severe to endanger the society.” [source]

And this…

Surgeon general pick: Train new doctors on abortions

President Obama’s pick for surgeon general has urged that future doctors learn how to perform abortions.

Obama announced his nominee for surgeon general, Regina Benjamin, at the White House Monday. Benjamin, 52, is a family doctor in Alabama who established the Bayou La Batre Rural Health Clinic “to provide health care with dignity to impoverished residents.”

Population control has been and continues to be linked with the New World Order otherwise known as the One World Government!

Now we have a global interdependent society which has been primed to consider things like global resources, climate change and economic challenges. The thing is this… when I first became a Christian these topics were considered on the fringe. Yet, we knew that for a One Word Government to work it must have control over the economic structure, the religious/spiritual sector, the business sector and the people in general. We knew that there would be scare mongering from the elites so that society would be willing to lose what little freedom they had left. I reckon that is happening in some form now, don’t you?

We were considered kooks back then and now look what is happening! All these things are becoming main stream news!

No, Mr. President: John Piper’s Response to President Obama on Abortion

A hugely powerful speech made by John Piper. Very moving, and thought provoking three and half minutes.

Some of the comments…

Piper is right.

And yet, there is no way in the world I would vote for a president based on this one issue.

I’m sorry.

Someone replies…

So if a politician’s ideology lines up with everything you believe and support EXCEPT that he also condones the mass destruction of human life, you’d be ok voting for him?

If this is the case, then it’s possible you would’ve voted for Hitler or Stalin if you had the opportunity. And that, is scary.

Parents shocked by sex advice website for primary schools kids

News I woke up to this morning…

PRIMARY school students are being told abortion can be “a relief” and hormones make you “feel sexy” on a website endorsed by Education Queensland. Outraged parent groups are demanding the State Government immediately withdraw its endorsement, warning the website is inappropriate and even dangerous for pre-teens. But educators argue it is a valuable, fun tool that helps children entering their teens learn about their bodies.

Set up by La Trobe University, it uses cartoons to tell 10 to 12-year-olds why certain hormones give them “sexy thoughts” and start making them “interested in sex”.

It asks students if they think “a six-inch penis is normal” and if they believe “13 is too young to have a baby”.

Students are told it can be a relief if a woman has a termination.

The slippery slope – We’re in for a ride!

Something to ponder on…

Buckle up. We’re on our way.” So wrote William Saletan, one of the most influential reporters covering today’s medical and moral controversies. Saletan writes for Slate.com, and his words made reference to the fact that our world just got a little more complicated . . . and a lot more dangerous.

As the Daily Mail reported:

Kidneys and livers from aborted foetuses could be given to the desperately ill and ease the organ donor shortage, a leading scientist has claimed.

Professor Sir Richard Gardner, an Oxford University stem cell expert, said foetal tissues may offer a more realistic solution to the lack of organs than other technologies being developed.

Further:

Calling for studies into the feasibility of transplanting foetal organs, Sir Richard, an advisor to Britain’s fertility watchdog and the Royal Society, said he was surprised the possibility had not been considered, and that experiments in mice have shown that foetal kidneys grow extremely quickly when transplanted to adult animals.

Sir Richard said: ‘It is probably a more realistic technique in dealing with the shortage of kidney donors than others.’

Disturbing things

I recently read this, [hatip: Mikescape] and I read the comments that followed that post. I was actually brought to tears when I followed a link that was posted by Naturallawyer.

http://thenaturallawyer.wordpress.com/2009/02/12/what-partial-birth-abortion-is/

Partial-Birth_Abortion Sickening! How do you think any nation is going to stand when God looks down on such things! It’s beyond me how anyone who calls them self a Christian can call this butchery an acceptable alternative to fix the problem of unwanted babies. In truth, there is no unwanted babies! My brother and his wife cannot have children, and they have been waiting for over four years, and still no baby!

One thing that I have come to understand is that there is a lot of money for the government to prolong the adoption process. It costs over $40,000 and many years of red tape to adopt in South Australia, the adoption agencies have been taken over by the government as of a few years ago. And what with the taxes that people have to pay towards abortions! Don’t even get me started!

When I read the article that I have linked to, I just don’t understand how any doctor who is suppose to uphold life and care for it can commit such a crime against a human baby!

And did you know that the Hippocratic Oath has gone through some changes? The classic one says…

I will neither give a deadly drug to anybody who asked for it, nor will I make a suggestion to this effect. Similarly I will not give to a woman an abortive remedy. In purity and holiness I will guard my life and my art.

The Modern version omits the above and instead substitutes it with…

I will respect the privacy of my patients, for their problems are not disclosed to me that the world may know. Most especially must I tread with care in matters of life and death. If it is given me to save a life, all thanks. But it may also be within my power to take a life; this awesome responsibility must be faced with great humbleness and awareness of my own frailty. Above all, I must not play at God.

What does God think on these things?

I have just read something that brought me to tears. Seriously, anyone who thinks that this is ok, that any government (or any person for that matter, including Christians, Politicians, and Pastors) can agree with such torture and find it morally acceptable, needs to have their heads read!

How long can any nation stand while these things happen. May God have mercy on us all!

The Emerging Church and ‘Social Justice’…

My last post was about the ‘New Apostolic Reformation’ and those involved who call themselves ‘The Glory Generation’.

Well, here is a little bit about the ‘New Evangelicals’ and where this move is heading. Evangelical use to mean spreading the gospel of salvation, now it has shifted to mean ‘Social Justice’. There is a problem with this because ‘Social Justice’ changes with the times and adjusts with to the spirit of the age [see Zeitgiest]. What is socially just now may not be in the future, or indeed it may not have been in the past!

The movement applied Christian ethics to social problems, especially poverty, inequality, liquor, crime, racial tensions, slums, bad hygiene, child labor, weak labor unions, poor schools, and the danger of war. Above all they opposed rampant individualism and called for a socially aware religion. Theologically, the Social Gospel leaders were overwhelmingly post-millennialist. That is because they believed the Second Coming could not happen until humankind rid itself of social evils by human effort.[1] Social Gospel leaders were predominantly associated with the liberal wing of the Progressive Movement and most were theologically liberal. Important leaders include Richard T. Ely, Washington Gladden, and Walter Rauschenbusch. [source]

This article by Paul McGuire explains in detail how the ‘New Evangelicals’ are actually advancing a society that Margaret Sanger would be proud of.

The “New Evangelical” which is born of the Emergent Apostate Church is very concerned about the environment. Just not the holy environment of a mother’s womb! It is perfectly acceptable for this “New Evangelical” to be tolerant while a child is brutally murdered by a doctor who slams a knife or scissors into the head of the skull of a full born child in an act which is called partial birth abortion. Cizik and some leaders in the Emergent Church apparently have no problem advocating that evangelicals vote for a candidate who supports that Nazi-like procedure. Cizik is more concerned about the environment and social justice. That is the theological equivalent of planting fields of daisies around the death camps in Germany and making sure the air is not polluting by the stench of burning human flesh in what was called the Holocaust.

Christians should be concerned about social justice the environment, poverty and hunger. But, Emergent Church leader Brian McLaren sounds like he is reading from a United Nations plan book when he outlines the Christian agenda.

[...]The agenda of the United Nations is world government and a one world religion. That information is contained in their own writing. The Council on Foreign Relations agenda is one world government or a new world order and that is repeated many times in their writing.

The reality is that the United Nations and the Council on Foreign Relations advocate and promote mass genocide. It is in their writings beginning with the Fabian socialists H.G. Wells and Bertrand Wells. It is their stated goal to reduce the population of planet Earth below one billion people. Zero population growth is at the very core of their belief system. As such, the promotion of abortion, the promotion of homosexual marriage, the timid response to mass disease epidemics, mass starvation, mass murder and genocide is intentional strategiy of their Malthusian belief that much of the world’s problems could be solved through mass population reduction. The founder of Planned Parenthood, Margaret Sanger knew this and the writings produced by those who are leaders in the United Nations and Council on Foreign Relations agenda repeat over and over again in writing their total commitment to totalitarian forms of population control.

Here is a you-tube that discusses the issue of Population Control called…

IMPORTANT – Victorian Parliament to discuss legalising abortion up to 24 weeks!!!

Pray, Pray, Pray!!! Isa 5:20  Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil;

Just to be clear, this bill allows for abortions to be carried out up to 24 weeks gestation without restrictions, after which an abortion can be carried out even to full term with the approval of two doctors for medical reasons!!!

Melbourne, Australia (LifeNews.com) The parliament of the Australian state of Victoria has started to debate a bill that would officially legalize abortion there, even though abortions have been legal in the island nation for years. If approved, the state, the second largest by population in the nation, would allow abortions up to 24 weeks into pregnancy.

Abortions would be legal up to the point of viability for any reasons and then two doctors would have to sign off on whether the abortion is in the woman’s best medical interests.

Once the parliament completes the second reading on the bill, MPs are expected to introduce dozens of amendments to the legislation — with some coming from pro-life lawmakers and some from abortion backers.

One amendment expected to receive considerable debate is one to limit abortions to 20 weeks into pregnancy.

Labor backbencher Christine Campbell is the sponsor of the amendment to water down the bill as much as possible. She hopes more unborn children able to survive outside the womb will be protected.

‘What we’re arguing … is that if they are going to have abortion on demand in Victoria we have to be clear that children at six months in utero are perfectly viable,” she told Sky News.

“If that child was born, they would be in intensive care at the hospital. You can’t have in the very same hospital, a child in one ward delivered and abandoned, and in another ward, one in intensive care,” she said.

Other amendments would make counseling mandatory before the abortion and strengthen protections for medical professionals who don’t want to be involved in abortions.

As the bill currently reads, any physician who doesn’t want to do an abortion must refer the woman considering one to another doctor.

Campbell opposes that and says it is wrong to force medical personnel to violate their conscience or moral or religious views by making them refer women for abortions.

Sports minister James Merlino also opposes the bill and says it will open the door for more abortions in the state.

“We’ve already seen people coming in from Western Australia, for example, coming over to Victoria and I think that will increase,” he told Sky News.

Liberal frontbencher Mary Wooldridge was the first to speak in favor of the bill, saying, “Today, I believe we stand up for a woman’s right to choose about her fertility.”

The Nationals leader, Peter Ryan, says he will not accept the bill in any form.

“This bill seeks to legalize the killing of the innocent. I am opposed to it and I will vote against it,” he said.

The debate is expected to occur this week with a final vote expected next month. The Lower House is expected to vote on the bill on Thursday.

I don’t care what party you voted for… this needs to be prayed about!

Have you heard of Emily’s List???

On their Australian website they welcome this new Bill…

EMILY’S LIST WELCOMES BILL TO DECRIMINALISE ABORTION.

19 August 2008

EMILY’s List welcomes the introduction of the Abortion Law Reform Bill 2008 to decriminalise abortion in Victoria. EMILY’s List praises the initiators of the Bill, Minister for Women’s Affairs, Maxine Morand and Minister for Health, Daniel Andrews for delivering a Bill which will modernise in the way in which abortion is regulated in Victoria.

The Bill permits terminations with the woman’s consent up to 24 weeks gestation. After 24 weeks gestation, the decision making authority shifts to the medical practitioner.

“While EMILY’s List has advocated for legislation in which the woman’s consent is the relevant factor not subject to any gestational limits, this is a workable model for woman and medical practitioners moving forward” said EMILY’s List Victorian Co-Convenor Moira Rayner.

CALL FOR LIFTING OF ILLOGICAL, IMMORAL & INAPPROPRIATE BAN ON ABORTION

4 June 2008

EMILY’s List has today welcomed the referral of the overseas aid guidelines regarding abortion to a Labor Caucus sub-committee for review and urged the Minister for Foreign Affairs to overturn the illogical ban on aid for developing countries. EMILY’s List regards this as an opportunity for the new Rudd Government to demonstrate it can be a progressive health partner in the global community.

Obama’s stance on the Born Alive Infant Protection Act

Ever wonder how Barack Obama, the great healer, ended up with a more radical record on abortion than Sen. Hillary Clinton or even the zealots at NARAL-Pro-Choice America? It comes down to the “Born-Alive Infant Protection Act.” The bill was designed to provide legal protection for babies born alive during an abortion. Babies like the ones ex-nurse Jill Stanek saw discarded and left for dead at her hospital. The experience moved her to push for “Born Alive” legislation in Illinois, but Obama voted against the legislation — three times.

Congress passed a federal “Born Alive” bill in 2002 without one opposing vote. Not even NARAL opposed the legislation, which President Bush signed into law with Stanek in attendance.

Why couldn’t Obama, who talks about reaching across the aisle, find it in his heart to tiptoe onto this vast common ground to help the least among us? [source]

Slice of Laodicea » Dumpster Babies Discovered in Michigan

I was over at Ingrid’s site — Slice of Laodicea — and this caught my eye, and my heart.  It isn’t an easy read by any means.  But it shows the inhumanity that is directed towards those little ones that do not have a voice.  It is disturbing to say the least and it will should be.  If this doesn’t disturb and upset societies moral sensitivities then clearly we live in very dark and evil days.

Please know one thing, this is a silent holocaust that is happening.

Dumpster Babies Discovered in Michigan

I will be interviewing Dr. Monica Miller on KSLR in San Antonio later today. She and other members of Citizens for a Pro-Life Society discovered numerous aborted babies thrown into a dumpster outside an abortion “clinic” in Michigan. (You won’t hear about this on MSNBC or CNN.) She writes the following narrative:

It began on the evening of March 29, 2008. Two teams had set out to investigate abortion clinic trash dumpsters. I was with Anne Mitzel and Mary Sullivan to do a final check of the trash dumpster behind Alberto Hodari’s Woman Care clinic in Lathrup Village, Michigan . The other team was Lynn Mills and Jenny Nelson. Earlier that month we found bio-hazard waste, numerous patient records and the remains of 23 aborted babies in the trash behind Hodari’s Lathrup Village clinic as well as Hodari’s abortion clinic in Sterling Heights. On the night of March 29th while our team searched Hodari’s dumpster, Lynn Mills and Jenny Nelson set out to take a look at Hodari’s trash dumpster behind his abortion clinic in Livonia. Lynn called me on her cell to report that they found no trash there. Lynn suggested that she and Jenny should check the Woman’s Advisory abortion clinic dumpster on Six Mile Road in Livonia instead — “just to see what we might find”. This clinic is owned and operated by Dr. Reginald Sharpe. A half hour later Lynn called to report that indeed, in the few bags that they retrieved, bio-hazard waste as well as patient records were discovered.

Barack Obama – A messianic hope?

Barack Obama is making headlines and those head lines have very spiritual and religious overtones!
There is this site called “Is Barack Obama the Messiah?” and on that site I found the following…

For the very first time in my life, I feel compelled to stand up and to speak out for the man who I believe has a new vision for America, . . . I am here to tell you, Iowa, he is the one. He is the one!”

“We’re all here to come together – to appreciate our uniqueness and to treasure our diversity, and we’re here to evolve to a higher plane . . . The reason I love Barack Obama is because he is an evolved leader who can bring evolved leadership to our country. . . .

. . . When you listen to Barack Obama, when you really hear him, you witness a very rare thing. You witness a politician who has an ear for eloquence and a tongue dipped in the unvarnished truth…(source)

What puzzled me is this. As I watched the youtube it quotes accurately on what Oprah had said about Obama, except for one thing… “and we’re here to evolve to a higher plane…The reason I love Barack Obama is because he is an evolved leader who can bring evolved leadership to our country.”

I have watched the video three times now and cannot hear that in her speech! But what she does say is that Obama is one man who has moral authority and that he speaks the unvarnished truth…

She speaks of Obama’s moral authority and his tongue being dipped in the unvarnised truth… hey! But what about his moral stand on abortion? Would anyone care to tell me where his morals are when it comes to the issue of abortion? Apparently he is an advocate for partial birth abortions. I have also heard it said that he is so extreme left, that if he was to roll over in bed he would wake up on the extreme right side, or words to that effect!

One thing I know for sure is that Obama according to some is becoming Messiah-like. Just because he is on the left do not think for one moment that spirituality/religion is not finding its way in through the back door.

Obama the Messianic

A savior offering messages of “the truth” and hope.

By Rich Lowry

In her stump speeches on Obama’s behalf, Oprah zeroed in on the heart of the matter: Obama’s post-political messianism. In South Carolina, she declared that it isn’t enough for candidates to tell the truth, “We need politicians who know how to be the truth.” One wonders if in the news reports, it were merely a transcription error that “the truth” wasn’t rendered in divinized capital letters.

Michelle Obama spoke in the same terms: “We need a leader who’s going to touch our souls. Who’s going to make us feel differently about one another. Who’s going to remind us that we are one another’s keepers. That we are only as strong as the weakest among us.”

This isn’t merely overpromising. It’s a creepy inflation of a political figure into a secular version of the Second Coming. Oprah implied the same thing, quoting a film in which an old, long-suffering woman asks every child she meets — in a question fraught with messianic symbolism — “Are you the one?” Oprah continued, referring to Obama, “It’s a question the entire nation is asking — is he the one? South Carolina — I do believe he’s the one.”

Dr. Picirilli thinks not. After making the point that Calvinists believe that those reprobates who hear the gospel cannot truly respond to the offer of salvation, he further observes that, Furthermore, in the Calvinistic system, the gospel is not really offering salvation to any, since neither the elect nor the non-elect can accept the offer or meet its cond […]
