~ a journey towards an eternal life ~
We have all the heard the news of Rick Warren’s son. His suicide was a few days ago and my prayers and thoughts go out to his family. It must be a horrible thing for any family to go through, I just can’t imagine it. But today, I feel so bereaved by the human race as a whole. I have come across some of the hateful remarks made against Rick Warren that pretty much blame him and his God for his son’s death. I have had tears streaming down my face this morning over this. I just don’t understand how there can be so much hate in the world which is so freely spewed out. I found myself wondering if there really is more hateful people, or if the access to saying your piece on the internet has made it possible for these hate-filled lost souls to spew forth their hate filled thoughts.
I know it says that in the last days it will be like the days of Noah. The days of Noah were reprobate and extremely ungodly. It says that in the last days that people will be given over to their own lusts, be lovers of themselves and many more horrible things. I am certainly seeing this more and more as the internet has allowed people to hide behind their computer screens and say with bravado the most detestable things.
Gen 6:5 ‘The LORD saw how great man’s wickedness on the earth had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time.
Such basic things such as, if you can’t say anything nice don’t say anything at all, is a lost art. Separating opinion from people is something that doesn’t seem to happen anymore, even during debates… it’s all become so personal!
Again, I wonder if all of this violence and hatred is accelerating or has always existed and it is so much in your face because of social media. Maybe it’s both.
It truly is of satan…Historically the source of violence comes from one that was once close to God, Lucifer. Ezekiel 28:16, “In the abundance of your trade you were filled with violence, and you sinned.” This verse speaks of Satan who was then cast as a profane thing from the mount of God. He was “filled with violence” Whereas before he was perfect in all his ways until sin was found in him, the sin of pride. Violence is the physical exhibition of pride. Ps 73:6 Therefore pride serves as their necklace; violence covers them like a garment. “One can recognize that we are a society that is self dependant and self engrossed pride is expressed through violence. Our society has reached the time that can be ripe for judgment. Prov 4:17-19 For they eat the bread of wickedness, and drink the wine of violence. But the path of the just is like the shining sun, that shines ever brighter unto the perfect day. The way of the wicked is like darkness; they do not know what makes them stumble.” We have the fruits of our labors today from sowing seeds of discord for years. Prov 21:7 “The violence of the wicked will destroy them, because they refuse to do justice.”
Prov. 26:12 “Seest thou a man wise in his own conceit? There is more hope of a fool than of him.”
Jer. 18:12 “And they said, There is no hope: but we will walk after our own devices, and we will every one do the imagination of his evil heart.”
I have often spoken about the Church losing its salt and effectiveness as it becomes more like the world than being the bride of Christ, and in doing so the Holy Spirit is being quenched. This is also something that happened in the days of Noah…
The restraining of the Holy Spirit removed
Gen 6:2,6 Then the LORD said, “My Spirit will not contend with man forever…The LORD was grieved that he had made man on the earth, and his heart was filled with pain.’
I certainly see that happening, the Holy Spirit is being grieved by the Church and the world is reaping this reward.
