Israel and Jerusalem Facts

Israel_independence

  1. Israel became a state in 1312 B.C., two millennia before Islam;
  2. Arab refugees from Israel began calling themselves “Palestinians” in 1967, two decades after (modern) Israeli statehood in 1948;
  3. After conquering the land in 1272 B.C., Jews ruled it for a thousand years and maintained a continuous presence there for 3,300 years;
  4. The only Arab rule following conquest in 633 B.C. lasted just 22 years;
  5. For over 3,300 years, Jerusalem was the Jewish capital. It was never the capital of any Arab or Muslim entity. Even under Jordanian rule, (East) Jerusalem was not made the capital, and no Arab leader came to visit it;
  6. Jerusalem is mentioned over 700 times in the bible, but not once is it mentioned in the Qur’an;
  7. King David founded Jerusalem ; Mohammed never set foot in it;
  8. Jews pray facing Jerusalem ; Muslims face Mecca . If they are between the two cities, Muslims pray facing Mecca , with their backs to Jerusalem ;
  9. In 1948, Arab leaders urged their people to leave, promising to cleanse the land of Jewish presence. 68% of them fled without ever setting eyes on an Israeli soldier;
  10. Virtually the entire Jewish population of Muslim countries had to flee as the result of violence and pogroms;
  11. Some 630,000 Arabs left Israel in 1948, while close to a million Jews were forced to leave the Muslim countries
  12. In spite of the vast territories at their disposal, Arab refugees were deliberately prevented from assimilating into their host countries. Of 100 million refugees following World War 2, they are the only group to have never integrated with their co-religionists. Most of the Jewish refugees from Europe and Arab lands were settled in Israel , a country no larger than New Jersey , USA ;
  13. There are 22 Muslim countries, not counting Palestine . There is only one Jewish state. Arabs started all five wars against Israel , and lost every one of them;
  14. Fatah and Hamas constitutions still call for the destruction of Israel . Israel ceded most of the west bank and all of Gaza to the Palestinian authority, and even provided it with arms;
  15. During the Jordanian occupation, Jewish holy sites were vandalized and were off limits to Jews. Under Israeli rule, all Muslim and Christian holy sites are accessible to all faiths;
  16. Out of 175 United Nations Security Council resolutions up to 1990, 97 were against Israel ; out of 690 general assembly resolutions, 429 were against Israel ;
  17. The U.N. was silent when the Jordanians destroyed 58 synagogues in the old city of Jerusalem . It remained silent while Jordan systematically desecrated the ancient Jewish cemetery on the mount of olives, and it remained silent when Jordan enforced apartheid laws preventing Jews from accessing the temple mount and western wall.

These are incredible times. We have to ask what our role should be. What will we tell our grandchildren we did when there
was a turning
point in Jewish destiny, an opportunity to make a difference?

    It’s a very clear and informative presentation. I agree that the land of Israel was promised to the decendants of Abraham and given to the Hebrews in the book of Joshua (and those following). Having said that, point 7 indicates the Muhhamad was never in Jerusalem. The Dome of the Rock is built over the location that Muslims believe Abraham would almost sacrificed his son, and that later Muhhamad ascended into heaven from the same very spot. Jerusalem is the third holiest city of Islam for this reason.

    The list is good, I agree with most of it, especially that it should be the home of the Jews. I also believe that Hebrew scriptures prophesied there was always be contention because even though instructed to by God, they would not drive out or kill all the inhabitants of Canaan. There will never be peace, and the Jews will always be despised by most people of the world. This is the fullfilment of God’s prophesied word. There will also be, however, always a remnant of the Hebrew nation in the land.

  2. Clark, thanks for your comment :)

    As far as I know… Mohammed travelled to Al Aksa on a flying donkey called Buraq during a dream or vision.

    It’s called a buraq, and the myth comes from the hadith, a supplement to the Koran.

    Sahih Bukhari Volume 5, Book 58, Number 227 hadith

    “I was brought by the Buraq, which is an animal white and long, larger than a donkey but smaller than a mule, who would place its hoof at a distance equal to the range of vision.”

    The Journey to seventh heaven
    According to Islamic tradition, the Night Journey took place 12 years after Muhammad became a prophet, during the 7th century. Muhammad had been in his home city of Mecca, at his cousin’s home (the house of Ummu Hani’ binti Abu Thalib’s) doing the 5th prayer (Isha’a). Afterwards, Muhammad went to the Masjid Al-Haram mosque. While Muhammad was resting between Baitullah and Hijir Ismail, suddenly the angel Jibril (Gabriel) appeared to him. The angel cut open Muhammad’s chest, took out his heart, and purified it with the holy water of the nearby Zam-zam well. The angel then restored the heart to Muhammad’s chest, leaving no wound. After this, the Buraq arrived. Muhammad mounted the beast, and in the company of Gabriel, they traveled to the “farthest mosque”. The location of this mosque was not explicitly stated, but is generally accepted to mean Jerusalem. At this location, Muhammad dismounted from the Buraq, prayed, and then once again mounted the Buraq and was taken to the various heavens, to meet Allah. Muhammad was instructed to tell his followers how many times per day that they were to offer prayers. The Buraq then transported Muhammad back to Mecca.

    For those of you who follow this blog and who questioned the Todd Bentley fiasco, did you note that an angel cut open Muhammad’s chest… sounds awfully familiar to Bentley’s strange third heaven experience.

    Weird hey?

  3. Just a reminder of what Todd Bentley experienced…

    …I don’t know what it was they tied me down with but all of a sudden my hands and my ankles were fastened to this table but don’t tell me, this is a little graphic. I’m thinking they’re going to do a surgery on me and I’m awake that’s my first thought they are going to do a surgery on me – your going to be operated on by these angels and here’s what happens, I’m thinking they are going to pull out a scapel and go like (sound) and cut me open And all of a sudden I hear this sound like a mitre saw rrrrrrrr a mitre saw like one of those things before brain surgery, they rrrr . y’know they cut your skull , they pick this thing up and I I literally thought (sound) and they put this thing and they stuck it in me right here on my neck and it didn’t hurt but here’s what happened they went (sound of cutting him open) right down to my lowards and all of sudden my stomach went puchh and everything inside of me popped out onto the table, my heart, my liver like everything.

    And I’m lying there and you want to scream because you think it should hurt but it doesn’t hurt. and your lying there and your arrr arrr all your insides are, here’s the strangest thing. so then here’s what happens the angels start taking these white boxes, they were white boxes (small), I mean like a little Christmas present, but they were white boxes and they were stuff, have you ever seen anyone stuff a turkey… and they start stuffing these things inside of me They t stuffing these boxes all over and I heard the verse “I desire truth in the inward parts.”

  4. ..and here is another similar account that happened to Mohammed:

    Tabari VI:75

    “‘Messenger, how did you first know with absolute certainty that you were a prophet?’ He replied, ‘Two angels came to me while I was somewhere in Mecca…. One angel said, “Open his breast and take out his heart.” He opened my chest and heart, removing the pollution of Satan and a clot of blood, and threw them away. Then one said, “Wash his breast as you would a receptacle.” He summoned the Sakinah, which looked like the face of a white cat, and it was placed in my heart. Then one said, “Sew up his breast.” So they sewed up my chest and placed the seal between my shoulders.’”

  5. Bonnie says:

    There is none so blind as he who WILL not see.

    The plain fact of the matter is that most of the world is living in rebellion towards God. Those who accept the marvelous provision of His Son as a sacrifice for sin love Israel, treasure their Bibles, and rightly divide the word of truth. Therefore they have an understanding of the nation of Israel within history and Bible prophecy. Thank you for posting this.

    May it be according to His will.

  6. Those who accept the marvelous provision of His Son as a sacrifice for sin love Israel, treasure their Bibles, and rightly divide the word of truth.

    That is so true Bonnie. Unfortunately there are leading teachers who are anti-semitic. Stephen Sizer is one that Jacob Prasch has wanted to debate on TV with. Sizer originally agreed to this debate, then backed out of it and said he would rather just settle this personally.

    These matters should be debated in public!

  7. Cshula says:

    A wonderful article. I’m gonna get myself a printed copy of that list.

    I didn’t follow the Todd Bentley scandal till near the very end. But that account you quoted from really sounded like this was an ‘UFO abductee’ talking…sheesh

  8. Yes, it makes me think of UFOs and aliens also…. there is an obvious connection between aliens and the demonic/fallen angels isn’t there?
