Living Journey

a christian life inside an eternal plan

A very good post about Todd Bentley

I don’t have much time right of this moment, but I thought I would share with you a post from a site called LaVrail.COM. The author of this site has a very well written and thorough post called “Todd Bentley Imparts Anti-Christ spirit” and it is a must read…

Based on the Holy Bible, the Holy Spirit, the Helper, comes only from GOD through Jesus Christ. Someone praying for you and putting their hands on you cannot give you the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is a living being, not an inanimate object someone can pin on you. The Holy Spirit only goes where he is welcomed. He cannot be forced to commune or abide with someone of an unclean spirit (He is not a magic genie). He must be invited or sent by GOD ALMIGHTY and He cannot dwell in an unclean temple (1 Corinthians 3: 16 Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? 17 If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are). Do you think the Devil and the Holy Spirit can abide in the same temple? One will have to go.

Bentley and those who follow him may believe that they can baptize someone with the Holy Spirit by laying hands on them, but the Holy Bible, GOD’s indisputable Word, says otherwise. I shouldn’t need to say it, but I will — Todd Bentley is wrong. And how can one lay hands another and give them a spiritual gift? No spiritual gift comes from man. Spiritual gifts come from the FATHER GOD ALMIGHTY. Will you dispute this? Will you dispute that GOD is the only One who decides what blessing HE will bestow upon one of HIS servants? Read 1 Corinthians 12:1-11 and you will learn that it is the Holy Spirit who “works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.”

Be sure to read this article, it is very good. In fact, I think that the whole site looks interesting.

Ok you are wrong actually. Todd Bentley lays hands on people and says God fill them with the Holy spirit (So HE himself is not trying to give it to someone but HE is asking GOD to give it) Pluse when he does that the person has to want the Holy Spirit and they WILL get it without a doubt, and if they don’t want it it will not fill them. So Todd Bentley is doing nothing wrong.

  4. The lip of truth shall be established forever and a lying tongue is but for a moment (Proverbs 12:19). Time shall test and prove all things.

A lying tongue is but for a moment – Truth stands for ever; because its foundation is indestructible: but falsehood may soon be detected; and, though it gain credit for a while, it had that credit because it was supposed to be truth.

Time will tell… the Toronto fiasco fizzled out completely.

Bentley said: “During this visitation the pastor’s wife (it was an AOG church) got totally whacked by the Holy Ghost- she began running around barking like a dog or squawking like a chicken as a powerful prophetic spirit came on her. “ (emphasis mine)

She got “whacked by the Holy Ghost” and as a result……… she began barking like a dog and squawking like a chicken? Is this the way in which the Holy Spirit works? According to Bentley it is, but not according to scripture. When God spoke through the prophets of old, the evidence that the Spirit was speaking through them wasn’t manifest through barking and squawking. They passed the test of a prophet – they were 100% accurate and everything they prophesied came to pass.

Let’s consult scripture and see what it says about the Holy Spirit. The sixteenth chapter of John will tell us all we need to know:

    John 16:13-15:

13 “But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come.

14 “He shall glorify Me; for He shall take of Mine, and shall disclose it to you.

15 “All things that the Father has are Mine; therefore I said, that He takes of Mine, and will disclose it to you.

According to this scripture passage, the Holy Spirit will take what He hears, and He will relay it to us, or speak it to us. Now, I ask you, do you think the Holy Spirit heard God bark like a dog or squawk like a chicken and relay it to this pastor’s wife? Or did God tell the Holy Spirit to tell her to carry on in that fashion? Prepostorous!!!

The following is an example of Bentley’s animal behaviour…

Suddenly, I fell under the power in the convenience store and, on all fours, roared like a lion. Then the shop clerk ran with fear and dived behind the counter with the two dope heads right behind him. By now, the entire atmosphere had changed. Then the atheist gets up, points his finger at me, and says, “Is that your God?” At that moment, this dirty bum comes walking into the store with two bags of bottles or something, puts them up on the counter and says, “You guys, listen to what these guys are telling you. Everything these guys are telling you is true.” He gets his money and walks out of the store.

As far as this move which has people barking like dogs, clucking like chickens and roaring like lions — whenever you see animal imitations in the bible, it is demonic. Nebuchadnezzar was given the mind of a beast as a judgement see Daniel 4. Animal behaviour in humans is not a blessing, but a judgement from God and demonic!

  5. Roger says:

I guess some folks need to read Acts 8:18 to see that the laying on of hands to receive the Holy Spirit really is quite biblical.

It is also true that when the Holy Spirit moves profoundly what manifests in people is not always the Holy Spirit. Todd and the folks in Lakeland know that a lot of deliverance is going on and do not purport that all the manifestations are of the Holy Ghost.

  6. Mary says:

Roger come on. Have you listened to Todd’s encounters with angels. You have got to be absolutely ignorant of occult things to believe angels cut people open and remove their intestines and throw them on the floor.

  7. Mary, I agree. Todd’s encounter with the angels sounds very much like other people who have an encounter of the third kind! This kind of encounter is no way biblical. So, if Todd says it is from God, then it must be???

For a genuine revival to happen, people must be convicted of sin, they must really understand that they are sinners on their way to Hell and the only way for God to rescue them is to repent! There is no such mention of humanity’s fallen sinful state and that we must repent from out sins. No conviction from the Holy Spirit at all.

I have heard Bentley say in his own words that it is not about Jesus anymore, it is about awakening his church into believing the signs and wonders that his angel bring! St Paul says otherwise…

1 Cor. 2:1 And I, when I came to you, brothers, did not come proclaiming to you the testimony of God with lofty speech or wisdom. 2 For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.

    That my friends is blasphemy.

  8. Louis says:

I have indisputable proof that Todd is false. I just visited the 8th heavens and a couple of angels told me that his angels and tattoos are not of God. Wizz-Whack-BAM!!
