I agree...this is easier to read V...

Been thinking about doing a make-over on my blog too--but can't decide what theme to use.

Maybe i'll wait until spring-they may come up with some new ones to pick from.

Hey, looking forward to the new post on Calvin Smith!

I really have to consider what theme I use carefully, I really don't want people skipping over the quotes. Because this site is more an information site I want people to be able to read it easily..

Hey Vee,

It's a good post and all...as you know, you and I are always on the same page. Just wanted to comment...the new blog layout is nice and organized and everything, but the font is kinda tiny in the block quote boxes, especially in the comments, and the red is very pretty but a bit hard on my eyeballs...maybe it's just my eyes??? Wouldn't want anyone to miss out reading some good things because of it.

Anyone else having tired old eye ball syndrome like me? Maybe I just need to dig up my reading glasses...I've misplaced them for the third time today. They say the eyes are the first thing to go. :)

Well...we know that prophetically speaking leaders of all nations interfere with Israeli politics don't we.

I think that the best thing for Christians to do is to spread the gospel, and pray for Peace.

I know where you and I stand on the separation of Church and State. However, we should all be praying for our leaders to make the right decision regarding Israel as it will have consequences on every nation who involves itself with that land. But at the same time in a Democratic country Christians can and should put pressure on their leaders to make a right decision and point out that even leaders are answerable to someone bigger than themselves.

Hey PJ... I am going to post a bit more on Calvin Smith from Midlands Bible College some time this week. He is doing very important work.

Here is where everyone pro or con can speak their mind about Israel and Her right to be in the land.

Calvin says the following about his endeavour...

For my part, a desire to research the issue in some depth has intensified over the years. As some of you know, recently I delivered a paper to the Tyndale Fellowship, Cambridge, on the issue, believing this would help me put the matter to rest and move on to other biblical theology-related political issues. In fact, the reverse has happened and after much thought and prayer I have decided to put my current research into Protestantism in Fidel Castro’s Cuba (which is well underway and will continue in “maintenance mode” for later production) to one side so as to focus fully on Christian responses to modern Israel, with a view to producing a monograph on the issue. Not only that, but as I speak more and more at different venues, much of my effort (unless requested otherwise) will from now on be channelled into exploring the issue of Israel from various angles with my audiences. (Incidentally, I would greatly value your prayers on this as I prepare to deliver some teaching weekends on Israel, and should it be your local church wants me to come and talk about this issue I would be delighted to do so, whether for a single meeting, several sessions, or whatever).

Anyone is free to add to the midlands bible college blog their views no matter what they are... as long as they are cordial and respectful of differing opinions. Calving has even had Stephen Sizer send him a copy of his book to review.

This so-called Bush Scroll and its contents, is one of the creepiest things i've heard about in a long time.

I was thinking about this whole thing the other day--the idea that on one hand we have Bush attempting to pursuade Israel to give up a piece of land. AND on the other hand, mega numbers of Christians in the West, sending out petitions, encouraging others to sign, so as to send them all to the powers that be in Israel, stating 'Christians say no!! the land must never be divided" etc...

My thought was: Who are all these people?

Who is Bush, or any other world leader to think they have the right to interfer? But also, who do these Christians think they are...to do their own type of interfering into the policies of another land?

I wonder what those of us in the US would think if some head [of another nation] tried to tell us what to do---OR if Christians outside the US starting making demands here...

People--Christian or non-Christian, need to step back...way back, from this situation that is one the people of Israel and their government, needs to handle.

I'm afraid too many Christians, AND leaders like Bush are trying to play God when it comes to Israel. So are many Christians.
