Update on Annapolis Summit
Bush pushes Arabs to reach out to Israel
“Arab states also have a vital role to play,” said Bush at the conference, which will be followed by White House meetings on Wednesday with Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
“Arab states should also reach out to Israel, work toward the normalization of relations and demonstrate in both word and deed that they believe that Israel and its people have a permanent home in the Middle East,” Bush said.
Bush at Annapolis: Two Democratic States Living Side by Side
We meet to lay the foundation for the establishment of a new nation — a democratic Palestinian state that will live side by side with Israel in peace and security. We meet to help bring an end to the violence that has been the true enemy of the aspirations of both the Israelis and Palestinians.
Hamas slams Annapolis, vows to keep fighting Israel
GAZA (Reuters) - Vowing to go on fighting the “Zionist enemy,” Hamas called Mahmoud Abbas the worst leader in Palestinian history on Monday and said he had no right to make concessions to Israel at the Annapolis peace conference.
Speaking at an “anti-Annapolis” conference in Gaza, leaders of the Islamist group which seized the enclave from Abbas’s forces in June said the president did not represent the Palestinian people and vowed never to recognize Israel.
Saudis: No Normalization Until Israel “Meets All the Conditions”
Normalisation will come only after peace negotiations are completed, but at the same time Riyadh’s attendance alongside more than a dozen Arab countries “will show the Israeli side that we are ready for normalisation if (Israel) meets all the conditions” conducive to peace, he said.
Syria backs revival of peace talks with Israel
Syria came out of the international meeting in Annapolis, Maryland, Tuesday backing the revival of peace negotiations with Israel that stalled in 2000.
Annapolis And The Core Issues
Real peace between Israel and the Palestinians can only come only after the Palestinians abandon their dream of Israel’s destruction and reconcile themselves to Israel’s identity as a Jewish state.
Jerusalem…
No place on Earth cuts to the soul of the Jewish people as deeply as Jerusalem. Ancient “Zion” - conquered by King David 3,000 years ago and the site of the two holy Temples – continues to serve as the emotional and spiritual home for the Jewish people.
Not surprisingly, questions regarding the status of Jerusalem are among the most contentious “core” issues dividing Palestinians and Israelis. The Palestinians want the eastern half of the city—where many holy sites are located—as the capital of their future state.
~~~
See here for a commentary on the Annapolis Summit by Joel C. Rosenberg. He speaks about the ‘good news‘ and the ‘bad news‘. Be sure and understand what part Hamas has to play in this! Iranian backed/Hamas wants the same thing as Iran, and now with the peace process looking more positive, the Iranian President Ahmadinejad would not be too happy with this outcome. We all know he wants the Mahdi to come and he believes that war with the Israeli’s will do it … He believes he is doing Allah’s will to obliterate Israel and annihilate Judeo-Christian civilization as we know it. Annapolis will very likely serve as a catalyst to him to get his nuclear weapons program complete, take care of Israel once and for all, to bring about the global carnage and chaos necessary to usher in the coming of the Mahdi.
There is also a potential problem with Russian President Putin … Russia has announced that it is going to host a post-Annapolis summit soon. President Vladimir Putin can’t stand the notion that President Bush has emerged in recent years as the game-changer in the Middle East. Putin wants that role for himself. The difference is Bush wants to support the Reformers, while Putin is siding with the Radicals. We must watch carefully to see how Putin reacts to Annapolis and what new initiatives he might try to put on the table. One possibility: “a Middle East nuclear weapons-free zone” that would seek to turn the world’s attention away from Iran and put the spotlight on disarming Israel.
Because of this summit Hamas has called called Mahmoud Abbas the worst leader in Palestinian history on Monday and said he had no right to make concessions to Israel at the Annapolis peace conference. And now we may start to see trouble rise in the West Bank/biblical Judea Samaria. Abbas’ government is not a strong one and Hamas recognizes this, this could be advantageous for them as well as for Iran. Gaza is already in the hands of Hamas (Muslims have been persecuted if they resisted this terrorist group in Gaza) and we may see Hamas take control of the West Bank/biblical Judea Samaria in much the same way.
Rosenberg also mentions that America should publicly recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and should move their embassy there immediately. I for one cannot see that happening because of my post yesterday, which documents the UN Resolution 181. This Resolution does not recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital but considers it an international city that should not be divided. Therefore Jerusalem should be a unified international city according to the UN non government body. How this can be overcome, I am not sure. I think Israel has every right to nominate which city should be their capital. I have heard it said that Israel is the only state in the world that has, according to the UN, no right to name their capital… I may be wrong, perhaps you the reader may know more about that? If this is the case then this city really is a burdensome stone for the world!
Another thing that I have come across is found at ‘Palestinian Media Watch‘ and it was only one day after the summit meeting that … An information clip produced by the Palestinian Authority Central Bureau of Statistics and rebroadcast today on Abbas-controlled Palestinian television, shows a map in which Israel is painted in the colors of the Palestinian flag, symbolizing Israel turned into a Palestinian state.
The description of all of the state of Israel as “Palestine” is not coincidental, and is part of a formal, systematic educational approach throughout the Palestinian Authority. This uniform message of a world without Israel is repeated in school books, children’s programs, crossword puzzles, video clips, formal symbols, school and street names, etc.
No surprises there really.
Blair Wingo - Allow me to re-introduce the Christ
A while ago I posted a youtube which had a missionary poetess called Blair Wingo. I promised that I would post another thought provoking poem by this passionate woman.
Well, here it is…
Enjoy!
Is Scripture important?
Found an interesting post from ‘Sola Dei Gloria’ called ‘Christians “too” Committed to the Bible‘. How can a Christian be too committed to the Bible? Just doesn’t make sense to me.
“In the actual practices of the Evangelical community in North America, there is an over-commitment to Scripture in a way that is false, irrational, and harmful to the cause of Christ,”
But on the other end of the scale we have ‘Pastors signing an online pledge to use the God’s Word as a primary source for sermons‘.
A website that provides access to sermons and illustrations has launched a campaign encouraging pastors to pledge that they will develop their own material through the reading and study of scripture.
Sad really, that such a pledge is even necessary!
Jerusalem - Corpus Separatum
While we’re on the subject of the division of the Jerusalem. Did you know that according to the UN Resolution 181 that Jerusalem will be subject to UN approval, and that no country not even Israel can claim it as their capital! Also that city once made into and international city will include the eastern side including Bethlehem!
C. THE CITY OF JERUSALEM
The boundaries of the City of Jerusalem are as defined in the recommendations on the City of Jerusalem. (See Part III, section B, below).
Part III. - City of Jerusalem(5)
A. SPECIAL REGIMEThe City of Jerusalem shall be established as a corpus separatum under a special international regime and shall be administered by the United Nations. The Trusteeship Council shall be designated to discharge the responsibilities of the Administering Authority on behalf of the United Nations.
B. BOUNDARIES OF THE CITYThe City of Jerusalem shall include the present municipality of Jerusalem plus the surrounding villages and towns, the most eastern of which shall be Abu Dis; the most southern, Bethlehem; the most western, ‘Ein Karim (including also the built-up area of Motsa); and the most northern Shu’fat, as indicated on the attached sketch-map (annex B). (UN Resolution 181)
Effectively no-one (if you consider the UN a legitimate body) can decide the fate of Jerusalem according to the UN. Oh but I think God has His hand on this situation regardless. See the ‘Corpus Separatum‘ article.
The official map of what would have been the UN’s Jerusalem district includes the areas of Bethlehem, Maale Adumim, Motza, Shuafat and beyond, far surpassing anything Israelis or Palestinians would now define as “Greater Jerusalem.”@ Honest Reporting
The Trusteeship Council is now defunct, yet the future prospects of the trusteeship council may include global governance. If now defunct, what does that mean for the UN Resolution 181?
Jerusalem, in a decision worthy of the setting for Pontius Pilate’s famous manual ablutions, was to belong to neither. It was to become a “corpus separatum” under UN direction - which is why today, except for a few banana republics, no country in the world, not even the US, will build an embassy there, or recognise it as Israel’s capital, eternal or otherwise. Indeed, it is a telling argument against Palestinian claims to the city as its capital - but for obvious reasons it is not one that Israel and its supporters are likely to make.
The resolution passed in the general assembly, but in the modern age, any such crucial decision would now go to the security council, where the US can wield its veto. Indeed, Israel and the US now argue that general assembly resolutions are not binding. This is something of an anomaly for a state whose raison d’etre is based on historical claims, since if general assembly resolutions are not binding, then the creation of Israel as a Jewish state was not binding on the Arabs.
The resolution does in fact say that any breach by any party is a threat to peace and security to be dealt with by the security council - which is of course still “dealing” with it 60 years later.
Read some of the comments from the link provided in the above quote… people are calling for Jerusalem to be internationlised!!!
Annapolis - Carving up the land of Israel
This is a Red Flag Post!
Joe 3:2 I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat. And I will enter into judgment with them there, for My people and My inheritance, Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; and they shared out My land.
Zec 1:14 So the angel who was talking with me said to me, Cry out, saying, So says Jehovah of Hosts: I am jealous for Jerusalem and for Zion, with a great jealousy.
Hat tip to Carla from More Books and Things for the following link that she found while I slept not so soundly as I knew the summit was about to start. Jerusalem is on the chopping board for the first time!
Today, November 27, 2007, the world will stretch little Israel out for dismemberment on the chopping block of Annapolis.
They will stretch Israel out, and smiling (not even secretly) at one another, will mark off the pieces they intend to tear away.
By the time the sun sets again, all those who hate Zion will believe that they have scored against her.
If only they knew; if only all those Americans who, watching the television news amid proud feelings of the pivotal part their country played in bringing all of this to pass - if only they knew.
It was not George W. Bush or Condoleezza Rice who invited the nations to Annapolis.
It was God. He is causing them to err.
Oh and I just wanted to add another post from Oleh Musings, Michael has finally blogged his two shekels worth in a post called ‘Politicking and Skepticism‘.
Chris Elrod - You Rock!
I am so happy that I could die….
I just wanted to say to Chris (Hat tip - Mike put me onto Chris’ blog) that I am going to continue praying for you and I just want other people who read my blog to check out your latest post called ‘No Friend of Emergent‘. May God be with you as you continue to take a stand in the Truth of His Word.
There will be those that will criticize the steps we have taken. So be it. There will be those that will choose not to fellowship with us. We can accept that. There will also be those that will say that this blog post was not needed because Emergent has no official theological stance. That’s a crock! Those that speak for you…define you…and what you believe. Others will say that we’re being legalistic. It’s not legalistic to believe that “theology” contradictory to the Word of God is wrong. Finally, there will be those that say that we’re judging. No…it’s called discernment…and it’s Biblical. It’s what we’re suppose to do as the shepherds of the flock that God has entrusted us with.
I also pray that with this stand that you have taken that others who are still within the emergent fold, will be given the courage to examine it as you have done. I pray that they test this movement against scripture and find it to be left wanting. This all weighs heavily on my heart and I can only imagine how God’s heart is breaking over his bride. And I thank God for people like you and Mike, who are very approachable but very conservative theologically.
Mike has been a real blessing to me and he is another person who ROCKS!!!
Seriously Chris, thank you!
May God bless you as you continue to keep in His Word!!!
(The Great Divide continues! Pray for His Church!)
The Political Christian - Thumbs up for the donkey!
This is a red flag post…
Recently we have just had our federal election here in Australia. The country is now governed by a Labour Government, the leader being Kevin Rudd.
I have just come across something that may interest some of you who are curious about Christianity and Politics. Is it a dangerous mix and one that should be avoided because of compromise? I have blogged about this before both Here and Here.
I will quote again… just for those who are not aware of the official AoG position regarding Christianity and Politics. Just to note, I agree totally with this position…
Historically, when the church has become involved in partisan politics, the outcome has been disastrous for both the kingdom of God and the system of government it promoted or attacked. The essence of the church is not earthly and temporal, but spiritual and eternal (John 18:36). The priority of the church is to preach Christ exclusively (1 Corinthians 2:2). The mission of the church is to proclaim the gospel (Matthew 28:19). [p]olitical affiliation, by its very nature, divides people into competing groups. There is no room for such division in the church. Therefore the church must never promote any party or system that would be divisive to the body of Christ, but rather contend for the faith that unites every tribe and tongue and people and nation into one glorious Church.
Why then does the AoG do the exact opposite and as well as their pastors?
What do you think of false prophesies that have been uttered by certain Christian leaders to certain Political leaders? Personally, I think that they come from the imaginations of man! Perhaps they are wishful thinking? Or perhaps there is something more than meets the eye? Kingdom building, Dominionism and the social agenda!
THE leader of a Christian group that advocates the destruction of mosques, casinos and bottle shops has met Peter Costello to “prophetically prepare” the Treasurer for the prime ministership.
Mr Costello and John Howard held private meetings with Catch the Fire leader Danny Nalliah in August, the same month the Prime Minister met with the leaders of the Exclusive Brethren, which prohibits voting and modern technology.
Mr Nalliah said in a letter to Christians that the Lord had told him to spend “personal time” with Mr Howard and to prepare Mr Costello as the “future prime minister”.
His prophecy…
The Lord told me to spend some personal time with Prime Minister John Howard and to prophetically prepare Federal Treasurer Peter Costello as the future prime minister of Australia. … I will boldly declare that Prime Minister John Howard will be re-elected in the November election (if the Body of Christ unites in prayer and action) and pass the leadership onto Peter Costello sometime after.
Uh oh…the prophecy was wrong!
Mr Nalliah from the AoG ‘Catch the Fire‘ ministry uttered this prophecy and he got it very, very wrong, hmmmm.
It saddens me to think that as a Christian conservative and also centrist, (I am one argument away from being an extemist!) I am finding it increasingly hard to vote for anyone these days. As my hubby said on voting day, he is rather shocked that the donkey has not been elected yet! I prefer to vote on what I consider to be a moral vote and try and find the party that best supports the ideal family unit and who believes that all life including unborn babies is sacred. The family unit in God’s economy constitutes the Father, Mother and child. My reasons for this are not personal at all, but only biblical. You can find the triune image of God in the traditional family unit, but that is another post all together.
But as we are entering into a new social agenda that the evangelical church has taken up — some calling it the ‘The New Reformation‘ — that agenda has more to do with politics than spreading the truth of the gospel. Please, please read ‘Jesus wasn’t a Social Worker‘ by Chris Elrod. Chris tells us who the real Jesus was, and what it was He stood for, it was not the social gospel at all.
Here’s the thing. If you mix Christianity and Politics you will lose the salvific gospel — the real atoning redemptive gospel that saves the soul — this gospel is the one thing that the Church was commanded to deliver to the four corners of the earth. Instead you have a watered down political/social agenda to build the kingdom up here on earth that eventually does a disservice to the salvific work of the cross. Where do you place your treasures, here or in heaven. Is Jesus’ kingdom of this world or not?
Getting back to Danny Nalliah from Catch the Fire ministries. He was prophesied over by none other than Frank Houston, father of Brian Houston from Hillsong. What people may not know is that Frank Houston was a sex offender of the worst kind.
Oh, what a to do with a moral vote??? Really there is much more I could say on the matter.
And just when you think that you have heard it all..
PRIME Minister John Howard has condemned the League of Rights as “a bit anti-Semitic”, but refused to cut ties with an evangelical pastor who has accepted a platform from the far right-wing group.
Opposition Leader Kevin Rudd also sidestepped the issue of government access for the pastor, warning only that people should be “very, very wary” of dealings with the “grossly anti-Semitic organisation”.
Danny Nalliah, head of Melbourne-based Catch the Fire Ministries, last night reaffirmed he would address the league again, despite criticism from Jewish leaders that his actions had conferred legitimacy on the group.
…The Australian League of Rights, founded by Eric Butler in 1960, insists the Holocaust — in which millions of Jewish people were murdered by the Nazi regime — did not happen.
In light of Pastor Nalliah’s reaffirmation last night, at least one Jewish leader urged political leaders to distance themselves from him.
The evangelical church leader has been granted high-level access to government. He told followers he had held one-on-one meetings with Treasurer Peter Costello on August 9 and Prime Minister Mr Howard the next day, after God told him to “prophetically prepare” Mr Costello as the future prime minister.
Last night, Catch the Fire issued a statement saying it would “not knowingly support or endorse any organisation which promotes such hatred (of others for their religious beliefs)”.@The AGE
Politics is a dirty game!
Oh, and just to mention one more thing. ‘Catch the Fire’ ministries also mentions on their blog that…
‘Kenneth Copeland prophesied that Howard would be re-elected‘
FALSE PROPHET!!!
And in the very next breath they say … We Congratulate Kevin Rudd & the Labor Government on Winning the Election.
Are you kidding me… how about repent for your false prophecies concerning this election before you quote from the bible which says…
1Ti 2:1-2 First of all then, I exhort that petitions, prayers, supplications, and thanksgivings be made on behalf of all men, for kings and all the ones being in high position, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet existence in all godliness and dignity.
Seriously I cannot even begin to voice my dismay at all of these false prophesies coming from Catch the Fire Ministries … how about this post called ‘Another Prophetic Word Regarding the Federal Election’.
What happened, did God change His mind?
I rather think that the website Christian Witness Ministries (Philip Powell) has hit the nail on the head when he said…
We suggest that a man who honours a homosexual paedophile won’t hear anything from God. False prophets usually cover their tracks. There is the fall back explanation if the above does not come to pass—Christians did not pray or they did not pray hard enough.
…Whatever happens in the election we suggest that Christians be careful how close they get to Catch the Fire and Danny Nalliah, who has most recently big named himself claiming all sorts of miracles and that he even raised a man from the dead—hmm! @CWM blog
The CWM Blog has a lot of documented stuff on the AoG, Danny Nalliah and the Houston’s, I reckon this is worth blogrolling!
OK, Mike here’s the hat tip to you!
Mike found an interesting post written by Chris Elrod. The original post is called ‘Love doesn’t win‘. In that post he examines the problem of love when it wanes, what do you have left? What is there left to stand on?
Have a read of it and see what you think….
Wow, I think this may be my shortest post to date! I’m impressed, even if I do say so myself…..
Hagee - Does he really understand the Messiahship of Jesus?
By now, everyone has blogged about Hagee and his new book called ‘In defense of Israel‘ and many people have either been shocked by it or have not been so shocked by it as they have seen this coming. A cursory reading of the Amazon comments make it clear that this book has somehow crossed over the theological divide.
In one of my posts called Hagee the Heretic, I rattled some feathers, albeit unwittingly so. I really didn’t mean to upset people and I know that there are many who stand by the man’s theology regardless of what I or anyone else says. For me it was just such a shock to hear what he said in his TV commercial.
Hagee himself said that his book will shake the Christian world and with the statements he made in his commercial as well as those within his book, he has succeeded to do just that. So for me, or for anyone to react and call his statements heretical, is I think understandable considering the circumstance that Hagee has put himself in. Hagee obviously expected some sort of repercussion and he certainly has got it. He shocked the Christian world, and in doing so, the Christian world has reacted in return.
Reaction is not always the right or the best thing to do, but if nothing else it certainly gets people talking about very important doctrinal aspects of the Atonement, the Messiahship of Jesus/Yeshua, Israel’s right to exist and the most important topic of all, the salvific gospel according to the Old and New Testament. The shadow of things that were to come and the light of Truth when they did!
Regarding heresy, perhaps we can attempt to boil it down to a basic question. The question being this. Are the following statements heretical or not?
- That Jesus did not come to earth to be the Messiah
- That Jesus refused by word and deed to claim to be the Messiah
Hagee is a strong supporter of Israel, of that there is no doubt, but he fails in one very important area. He does not believe - according to his TV commercial and book - that Jesus/Yeshua was the messiah for the Jews in deed or in word. Therefore I am left wondering exactly what good news gospel can Hagee preach to the Jews? The Atonement of the Lamb of God and the salvation message is found in Jesus’/Yeshua’s 1st coming, not at the second coming where Christ/Messiah comes as a lion to judge by the opening up of the seals! (Rev 5:5 ff)
Regarding the Salvation of Messiah His 1st coming, the lamb…
Joh 12:46-47 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness. And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
Joh 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
Regarding the Judgement of Messiah His 2nd coming, the day of the LORD, the lion…
1Co 4:5 Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.
2Th 2:8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming…
Heretic is a strong word and here is an email between Ray from Prophezine and Jacob Prasch from Moriel Jacob says that he would not necessarily call Hagee a Heretic but finds that he is skating very close to the edge. Jacob also mentions the reasons behind why Christ played down His Messiahship during his 1st coming and explains that… Mr. Hagee does not again understand the Jewish Festal background in the Gospels and how Jesus fulfilled them. He could only openly reveal His Messiahship by the prophetic agenda in The Hebrew Holy Days of Leviticus 23 & 24, specifically at The High Pilgrim Feasts. The times when Jesus (Yeshua) played down His Messianic identity is because it was not the appropriate time or place. The email has not been edited, but is worth a read because we now have some prominent pastors discussing Hagee’s book and the theology found within it.
From Ray of Prophezine…
In light of his words, he is of antichrist as spoken in 1 John 2:22
1John 2:22 (KJV) Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
And I find his words to be that of a heretic as defined below…
HER’ETIC, n.
1. A person under any religion, but particularly the Christian, who holds and teaches opinions repugnant to the established faith, or that which is made the standard of orthodoxy. In strictness, among Christians, a person who holds and avows religious opinions contrary to the doctrines of Scripture, the only rule of faith and practice.2. Any one who maintains erroneous opinions.
I seek your opinion from a Messianic ministry in what Hagee is claiming.Do you have any articles pertaining to Dual Covenant or can you offer help in refuting these lies? Although Hagee adamantly denies dual covenant, it appear he is twisting scripture and is writing some mutated form of DC theology.
From Jacob Prasch of Moriel…
There are avid supporters of Israel who indeed are proven heretics such as Malcom Hedding (leader of International Christian Embassy), and there are certainly heretics within the Messianic Movement (Mark Kinser), and we openly say so.
The problem with John Hagee appears to be rather ignorance, and a misguided zeal that has rendered him doctrinally delusional. Because he is not in denial of any basic tenet of biblical Christianity however, and because he claims not to be ‘dual covenant’, I would not personally describe him as heretical. I plan to publicly challenge much of his wrong doctrine. But I do not plan to attack him as a heretic as I have for instance (Malcom Hedding) because I do not think he has gone quite that far. But he is skating dangerously close to the edge of it.
For an excellent article on the midrashic understanding of the Messiah see ‘One Messiah - Two Comings‘ written by Jacob Prasch. I cannot speak more highly of this particular article.
The public challenge of J J Prasch will be watched closely by many. I think that if Hagee is pushed enough, his theology and doctrinal basis for it will become more evident. Certainly he is a man that we should all be praying for during this time. I guess we will wait and see how far this thing goes.
My Beach!
I just thought I would share some photos that we took last weekend at our beach. I do marvel at God’s creation, the beauty of it is something we should never forget! We live only a few kilometres away, and this is one of my favourite places to be in the world. We are so blessed!
I have included some thumbnails if you are interested in some more pictures to look at. The first thumbnail is the baby reef on the right side of the jetty, this is where little toddlers learn about the fish and ocean, little rock pools of warm water collect between the coral. The second thumbnail is another reef on the left side of jetty, this is the intermediate sea-side adventurers go (you know…. those bigger kids and adults who don’t like to swim out of there depth. The scardy-cats. ). This is where you go with your primary school when you choose snorkelling as an elective. I did that, and sometimes you see stingrays swim around here. I remember seeing one a few years ago. Lucky I didn’t tread on it. This reef is
At the end of the jetty is a much bigger and longer reef and this reef is in much deeper water, I have snorkelled around that as well. You do get to see some lovely fish in these waters. I just love the beach.
The following photo is pretty cool… a young lad in full flight, jetty jumping. I have never done this, hubby has once if I recall. It would scare me.
Everyone at the beach was in a very good mood this day. Many happy people were around that day, as the cold winter is fast disappearing and the warmer days are coming.
And I just love this photo, it just shows you how clean our beaches are here!
I have a very busy weekend coming up, so this should be my last post until next week. (Note the word should)
Take care people!
The Great Divide!
This is a Red Flag Post !!!
Please carefully read the following scripture…
Luk 12:3-5 Therefore, whatever you said in the darkness will be heard in the light; and whatever you spoke in the ear in the secret rooms will be proclaimed on the housetops. But I say to you, My friends, stop being afraid of the ones killing the body, and after these things not having anything more they can do. But I will warn you whom you should fear; fear the One who after the killing has authority to cast into Hell; yea, I say to you, Fear that One!
Luk 12:8-12 But I say to you, Everyone who may confess Me before men, the Son of Man will also confess him before the angels of God. But he that denies me before man shall be denied before the angels of God. And everyone who shall say a word against the Son of Man, it shall be forgiven Him; but the ones blaspheming against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven. But when they bring you in before synagogues and rulers and the authorities, do not be anxious how or what you shall reply, or what you should say; for the Holy Spirit will teach you in the same hour what you ought to say.
I wanted to start from this scripture today. Please read it once again.
It speaks about being willing to stand in the Truth of God’s Word. Carla has been documenting some things about an upcoming conference called ‘Break Forth’. And in that conference there are going to be many contemplative, emergent/emerging teachers that have been given a huge platform to put forth some not so orthodox new doctrine. See her first two posts called ‘Break Forth‘ and ‘More Break Forth‘.
She noticed that Kay Arthur was going to be attending this conference; obviously this is of some concern. Carla had emailed Kay Arthur and she received a reply which I think should be read, you can find the reply HERE.
After I read the reply that Carla had received, I instantly recalled the above verses. I felt that they were appropriate to this particular situation. I do pray that Kay Arthur stands in the Truth and is not fearful of man but is fearful of God. I also pray that as she enters into the midst of a church built on post-modern uncertainty, which is truly in spiritual darkness, that she be protected from that darkness and that the Lord uses her. I pray that she be given the words to say as the Holy Spirit who can only tell the Truth prompts her. I pray that she has the strength in the Lord to shout the truth from the housetops.
I have a strong feeling that there is about to be a huge public divide, an unholy divide, (Jerusalem and God’s Temple Mount is not the only thing about to divide, J J Prasch says whatever you see happening in the material is happening in the spiritual, I agree with that!) and what has been intimated in private will soon be announced in public. Persecution in the west against the saints will soon become more public.
We recently have had the Roger Oakland incident. And I wonder how many other pastors are going to be put in a similar situations because they do not fear man, but rather fear God and will not compromise on the Truth but rather shout it out and proclaim it wherever they go - even in the Church - God forbid!
I speak of a post-modern church full of uncertainty, and it reminded me of post that I read recently in a blog called ‘True Discernment’. In that blog there is an interesting post called ‘Tear Down the Idols‘. It speaks about a tower being built, one that is about to have an individual rise up out of it. I found that to be very interesting indeed. (Important Update: I misunderstood this particular part of the prophecy…please read the comment by John who cleared this up for me. John explains more on this prophecy….
In my mind, the understanding was given that this tower had been spiritually suffocating the saints, but God said he is in the process of bringing this tower down.
The fact that Satan could have such a position and prominence in the church structure and tradition is serious cause for evaluating and scrutinizing our way of handling the living organism called “the church.”)
Sobering words!
I think that this tower of Babel which is built on mysticism, Gnosticism and biblically unsound ancient worship is about to give birth to something so sinister, beyond our belief actually. This tower of many languages and practices is an abomination to God, and what will come forth out of it will be speaking blasphemous things against the Lord. The anti-christ is already shaping this hideous abomination and he already sits within its walls. I ask… how long until he appears?
Because of Rick Warren and his worldly P.E.A.C.E plan a political manoeuvre is being accepted within this tower and it is slowly unfolding before our very eyes. America’s favourite pastor is inviting in…A feminist, pro-abortion, pro-family planning, anti-god, pro-gay presidential candidate to his church with the UN Secretary General… is this the beginning of his PEACE Plan unveiled?
As the leaders of this movement are gently but surely aligning themselves with New Age teachers, I would like to share something else for you to consider…
Barbara Marx Hubbard, author of Emergence: The Shift from Ego to Essence, and a present day mystic, publicly despises Bible- believing Christians and believes we are coming into a time period of the emerging human who finally recognizes his own Divinity.
She states: “You and I are sitting at the hub of the emerging world…. now actually evolving our human species and our world itself…. we are living through an evolutionary crisis, a crisis of the birth of something new. It is vital now that what is emerging converges, … so that as the structures in the old system destabilize, elements of the emerging system self-organize as the new culture cocreated by a more conscious and empathetic humanity.” Interview with Andrew Cohen and BMH
The ancient wisdom and the emerging human that McLaren and other emerging church leaders are seeking is none other than the emerging spirituality that Barbara Marx Hubbard, Thomas Keating and other New Agers practice and promote. McLaren and these “Christian” leaders will be greatly disappointed in the end and will lead thousands, possibly millions, astray. These concepts date back long before this “new” emerging church movement began. @lighthouse
The old structures are being destablised, she is right! The soon to be fallen church is losing its foundation, and is sitting on a bed of shifting sand. It cannot stand for long.
The Truth of God’s Word is something that the Church should be standing on, and not on man’s post-modern pluralistic mish-mash philosophy that is ever-changing because of its experiential and highly subjective inner truth that has no cohesive outside objective reality.
We are witnessing the most important time in history; we are witnessing God’s bride flirting with other lovers and in some cases she is in bed with them. The soon to be fallen church will become the bride of anti-christ, Satan. This I say with concern and great caution.
I cannot even begin to articulate how I feel about all of this. I pray for strength during these times and for us to continue to hold on to what was once delivered to the saints. I pray that we test everything and I mean everything, even our experiences, against the infallible Word of God. The Word of God should be our only objective measuring tool, His Word will never change, nor will His message.
Hagee the Heretic
Mat 16:13-16 Now when Jesus came into the parts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Who do men say that the Son of man is? And they said, Some say John the Baptist; some, Elijah; and others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets. He saith unto them, But who say ye that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
Joh 1:41 He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ.
Christ - The word “Christ” is a Greek word, Χριστός Christos, signifying “anointed.” The Hebrew word, משׁיח mâshîyach, signifying the same is “Messiah.” Hence, Jesus is called either the Messiah, or the Christ, meaning the same thing. The Jews speak of the Messiah; Christians speak of him as the Christ. Barnes notes on the bible.
The Todd Friel and Doug Pagitt transcript
You may remember last month the conservative blogging world were all up in arms about the interview between Todd Friel and Doug Pagitt. Carla from ‘More books and things‘ sent me the mp3 of the interview, and I remember listening to it in my lounge room with absolute frustration and sadness at this type of heresy that is now coming from the ‘Emer‘ crowd and its leaders.
Sadly, I am not surprised by this, and those who persevere in the Truth of His Word are not surprised by it either. They too, have realised that today we are in the last days before our ‘Blessed Hope’ and His glorious appearing.
Tit 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ
I have just found the transcript to the whole interview for those who do not have a fast connection - you can read the interview on-line here.
Todd: Yea, do you think, do you think there’s an eternal damnation for people who are not Christians?
Doug: Yeah, well, I think that there’s.. I think there’s all kinds of … I mean that, that, damnation would sort of be that.. that there’s parts of the uh, life in Creation that seem to be counter to what God is doing and those are the things that are eliminated and removed and done away with. And so I think that’s what damnation is, and so there’s people who want to live out that kind of uhm, wanna have that good judgment – the judgment of God in their life. I mean you know Judge… Judgment in a biblical fashion meaning that God remakes… that God remakes the world.
Todd: OK, Doug, hold on Doug… Doug hold on a second. I have no idea what you just said. Here’s what I think Hell is: eternal damnation, God sends lawbreakers to a place where there’s weeping, there’s gnashing of teeth, a lake of sulpher, the worm never dies, eternal conscious torment. Agree or disagree?
Doug: Disagree.
What is Prophecy for?
This post started as a reply to a comment that I made the other day. It really got me thinking about biblical prophecies and the reason behind them. I ask the question, what is prophecy for and should they be ignored? The reason I ask this is because Carla raised an important point recently about some prominent teachers (we all know who they are) who say that prophecy is a waste of time.
This really got to me.
Do you know why?
Prophecy is something that indicates to us the signs to watch out for as we approach our Blessed Hope. That Blessed Hope being reunited with our beloved groom — namely, Jesus.
Why on earth would a bride not be watching for the signs of her groom?
I know that as the day creeps into the afternoon, I watch the clock waiting for my hubby to get home. I look for something to give me a timepiece if you like, to know the hour in which to expect him. Isn’t that the way we should be for our first love? Our greatest love!
Why on earth would we not be carefully watching for the signs of His coming? — on ‘earth‘ indeed …an earthly kingdom is very seducing. Lot’s wife is a prime example of this looking back toward earthly things.
Luk 17:30-32 According to those things, it will be in the day the Son of Man is revealed. In that day, he who will be on the housetop, let him not go down to take his goods from the house. And likewise, he in the field, let him not return to the things behind. Remember Lot’s wife.
Gen 19:26 And his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.
Albert Barnes notes on the bible: “She” looked back - she delayed - perhaps she “desired” to take something with her, and God made her a monument of his displeasure. Jesus directed his disciples, when they saw the calamities coming upon the Jews, to flee to the mountains, Mat 24:16. He here charges them to be in haste - not to look back - not to delay - but to escape quickly, and to remember that by delaying the wife of Lot lost her life.
The calamities that fell upon the Jews after Jesus said this, are things that will be recapitulated in their fullness (they will be felt worldwide) before the Day of the Lord.
The Blessed Hope will be our wedding day after all. So I ask the question, what kind of bride calls anticipating the signs of her grooms arrival a waste of time?
One who has found another lover, an adulteress I suspect!!!!
Al-Dura Trial: Exclusive Reaction From the Paris Courtroom
A few days ago I mentioned about the court case concerning France 2 and the al-Dura video footage. The court case was on the 14th of November.
We will have to wait until February 27 for the courts word on this. France 2 is a government run media news outlet and to have this kind of sloppy journalism (and I am being kind here!) is a complete and utter disgrace.
The following footage is of interviews outside the court. Listen to the people who have just recently watched the video and what conclusions they have to say about the film.
Find out what France 2 didn’t want you to know!!!
In case you are wandering about all of the ‘Red Flags‘
