I just wanted to write a very quick post about Kim’s blog called DiscernIt.

Here’s the blurby bit:

Apostasy in the churches is becoming commonplace, and it hurts my heart to realize that we are indeed in the end times. When i heard my pastor say that “the book of Revelation is not relevant”, i knew that i could no longer sit by and do nothing. I started by studying apologetics and the false movements of today and was truly astounded at what i was discovering. It is my hope that all who live for Jesus Christ will stand firm and contend for their faith.

One of the posts called ‘Opening the Third Eye-Christians Beware‘ which is all about the third eye chakra brought something very curious to my memory, I will get to that after the following quote….

The 3rd or Inner Eye - A metaphysical opening which refers to the 6th chakra (brow), that leads to higher consciousness. A new age symbol of enlightenment.

Back to the 6th chakra. The chakras usually relate to yoga, but not always. The 6th chakra in yoga is the brow. When kundalini (serpent power) rises to the the brow, there is enlightenment that is characterized by light.

The third eye is also known as:

The middle eye of Shiva in Buddhism.

In Hinduism it is the eye of clairvoyance. This Hindus wear the Tilak. The red spot between the brows.

When the Toronto Blessing was happening all over the place, I was living in another state to my home state at the time. (It had crept into the Church where we were attending as well). But I realised that what was happening in the Church was far from a move of God but rather resembled a move which looked more like the New-Age enlightenment that we had been warned about when we first became Christians. We were warned early on about the infiltration of mystic moves and to be quite honest, I never thought that it would happen so quickly, but it is happening and happening world wide. In fact, sadly, the very churches that warned about the infiltration of the New-Age movement and its occult foundations are now the same churches that have fallen for mystical experiences and explained away by dressing up in Christian vernacular through dialogue and conversation .

Post-modernism is right when it says that the same word can have many meanings. One example is the word ‘Salvation’, that word would mean something different to a practicing Catholic and a born again bible believing Christian. Post-modernism goes too far however, when it insists that there is no truth because of the double meanings. But that is another subject for another time.

Anyway, I digressed… sorry about that!

An old friend who had been touched by the Toronto spirit came up for a holiday, she was touched by the Toronto spirit before she got on the plane she said. She attended a church in my home state and I was well aware of what was happening in that Church from personal experience; and from friends and family who were attending at the time. The Toronto experience that I had witnessed in that Church was when I went back to my home state for a holiday, only to find that it had reached right across Australia in every state very quickly, even in my new Church in the new state that I was living in!

3rd-eye.gifAnyway… this friend of mine was in the so-called spirit when I picked her up from the airport and she was behaving in a way that was unfamiliar to most people who have never been involved with the Toronto blessing. When I got her home I noticed that she was wearing a shiva or tilak and had her third eye decorated with a pretty little sparkly sticker that she insisted that she leave on. Right there I knew something was not right with what was happening to her, I felt unsure as to why a Christian would feel the need to wear such a thing, and I didn’t understand why she was even directed to wear the symbol of the 6th Chakra, the third eye of enlightenment?

Like I said… it was when reading this post of Kim’s that I recalled a memory of something that at the time seemed a bit unusual. But now it seems to me to be a little more than coincidence considering the very strong links between the Kundalini serpent power and the Toronto spirit power which has very definately pathed a mystical way for the church.

And of course the results can be seen in the emergent/emerging church and the need for contemplative/lectio divina, vitange/ancient prayer and iconic/idol directed worship etc.

Much more could be said of course, time permitting, but I can definately see that the fruits of the Toronto spirit are now becoming much more ripe and readily eaten up by those who do not check all things with the Word of God as the bereans did.

  1. Thank you for the post and your added information about how Christians are easily affected by mysticism. It is frightening when one can see how easily the kundalini serpent power is transferred to another. When i finally realized that this unclean spirit in yoga is the same spirit transferred in hyper-charasmatic anointing, i was alarmed. The story about your friend shows how quickly the mind-set is changed of Christians when they are exposed to these “anointings”.
