The Day of the Lord is near
This is just a quick post to let people know of a conference entitled ‘The Day of the Lord is Near’ it is being held at a Calvary Chapel of Chino Hills, CA.
If any of you who read this blog can get to this conference, it would be well worth your while.
I received this in my email box and I am just passing it on.
We are having another great ISRAEL AND BIBLE PROPHECY CONFERENCE August 3-5, 2007 in the beautiful facilities of Calvary Chapel of Chino Hills, CA, where Senior Pastor Jack Hibbs ministers every week with outstanding Bible teaching. Speakers are already booked, including Dave Hunt, Roger Oakland, Bill Koenig, Jacob Prasch, Don Perkins, Jack Hibbs, and David Hocking – music by Johnny Ray Watson. The theme will be “THE DAY OF THE LORD IS NEAR!”
And another thing to be watching during these days is the Politics in Israel. There are many who are calling for Ehud Olmert to leave his position in the Kadima Party. The people are wantingBenjamin Netanyahu to take office:
If you have been following political events in Israel you know that the pressure is on the current Prime Minister, Ehud Olmert, to resign. Even members of his own Kadima Party are encouraging him to exit as soon as possible. The general public (in recent polls) seems to want Benjamin Netanyahu (former Prime Minister) back in office as Prime Minister of Israel. He takes a strong stand against terrorism and has written a great textbook on the subject. He also believes the Bible and is committed to the LORD GOD of Israel, and has strong ties and relationships with evangelical Christians.
The investigations surrounding the activities of Ehud Olmert have called into question his ethics and practices. He is also being held accountable for the way the war in Lebanon against Hizb’allah was handled last summer. Israeli citizens still remember and are not happy with his leadership. Olmert says he is not going to resign, but many are now calling for his departure. Time will tell.
As there is a Syrian backed build up of Hezbollah happening in Southern Lebanon and in Gaza Hamas has been very busy preparing for war, Israel is in a very fragile position, they need a strong leader. Olmert is not a strong leader.
Here is a blogger who lives in Israel called Oleh Musings. Here are a few posts on their political outlook:

Hey Living Journey, thanks for the hat tip to my blog, Oleh Musings. Glad you’ve liked what you’ve been reading…
Interesting posts you quoted up there, about Netanyahu. You quoted: He also believes the Bible and is committed to the LORD GOD of Israel
It’s important to remember that Bibi is only popular right now when he’s compared the Kadima and Labor leadership. He’s not really well liked for his politics here, mainly because he appears to be committed first to his own political career, and then to the State. Religion comes third.
What he is well liked for is his erudition, wit, intellect, and devastating debate skills when it comes to defending Israel on the world stage. He’s better at it even than Abba Eban.
Olmerts days in office are numbered, that is certain. It is not certain, however, who will replace him, whether or not we’ll have another general election, or if he’ll go before the next war.
Freaky, ain’t it?
Thanks for the update…make sure you keep us informed.
We will be supporting you all in prayer.
