The True Gospel - Updated

This post has been changed somewhat as the links to a program were not in accordance with strict biblical understanding! My deepest apologies to all.

The Kingdom and the Parables:

Recently, I along with others have been reading the bible in a year and we have come to the parables in Matthew. In these parables there are many illustrations about the Gospel of the kingdom, the kingdom of God and the kingdom of Heaven. In Matthew there are parables about the leaven in the bread, the wheat and tares and the dragnet along with other parables.

With reading these parables, I have been on a huge learning curve about

  • what this gospel of the kingdom really is,
  • when does it start in its fullness,
  • where is this kingdom going to be,
  • who will be the head of it,
  • how long will it go for,
  • what is its purpose,
  • who rules and judges in this kingdom
  • what will be the complete fruition from this kingdom

So far I have found that the kingdom of heaven and its mysteries are given to certain people with ears who will listen.

Mar 1:14-15 And after John was delivered up, Jesus came into Galilee proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom of God, and saying, The time has been fulfilled, and the kingdom of God draws near. Repent and believe in the gospel.

Mat 13:9-11 The one having ears to hear, let him hear. And coming near, the disciples said to Him, Why do You speak to them in parables? And answering, He said to them, Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of Heaven, but it has not been given to those.

With that in mind I will approach this exciting and very interesting topic first in prayer for an honest and truthful understanding according to His Word only and I pray that I will learn with a teachable spirit. In order for me to understand the kingdom of heaven I must first understand the gospel that Jesus proclaimed.

Getting back to basics:

I have for a long time noticed that there seems to be something missing in the Christian Church when it comes to the gospel and I have noticed too that the gospel that is currently being preached has been broken down to a very simplistic formula with little further biblical revelation being learned.

So, as it says in Mark, I am not only to repent but I am to believe in the gospel. The parables and also other teachings of Christ are right through the New Testament and many times He speaks about the gospel of the Kingdom and throughout this year I am sure I will come to many verses that deal with this subject further.

I pray that God opens my ears and eyes to His Truth.
