Jesus’ Family Tomb - the hidden secrets
If you want to do a bit of digging to find out what all the fuss is about see the official web-site for this soon to be aired documentary. The web-site is called ‘The Lost Tomb of Jesus“.
Now at this web-site you will come across many references to gnosticism and symbols of freemasonry and even subtle hints to the Da Vinci Codes and the Knights of Templar.
One name to watch out for is Dr James Tabor who has recently released a new book called The Jesus Dynasty: The Hidden History of Jesus, His Royal Family, and the Birth of Christianity. I am sure book sales will increase after the discovery channel airs this controversial topic. Anyway … Dr Tabor is also in the throes of writing a new bible translation and this one is called the “Transparent English Bible”. I don’t know much about this new bible translation and perhaps you may know more about it! The translation is due to come out sometime this year and I am sure there will be many scholars who will want to examine it more thoroughly.
Dr Tabor has some rather left off centre ideas about Jesus’ father and His family according to one reviewer, and I wonder if these ideas will be reflected in his new bible translation?
Tabor concludes that the most historically plausible claim is that Jesus’ father was neither God nor Joseph, but another man, possibly a Roman soldier named Pantera. He also argues that Joseph likely died when Jesus was young, leaving Jesus head of a household that included his six half-siblings.
Tabor not only challenges Christian dogma, he also makes some assumptions with which not all scholars will agree: he places a great deal of emphasis on the hypothetical text Q, calling it “our most authentic early Christian document.” This book is accessible and sure to be highly controversial, attracting the attention of reporters, spiritual seekers, historians and fans of The Da Vinci Code. (Publisher Weekly)
So yes, I would think that there will be some major critique when the Transparent English Bible comes out. Time will tell.
Another name to watch out for is Oded Golan he is the guy that had the infamous James Ossuary. There is a problem however, and that is … Oded Golan has been accused of fraud and forgery concerning antiquities. On the Jesus Family Tomb web-site they have this to say about the problem:
The problem is, at this time, Oded Golan is being tried on charges of fraud and forgery in Israel. On December 29, 2004, Golan was indicted in an Israeli court along with three other men: Robert Deutsch, an inscriptions expert who teaches at Haifa University; collector Shlomo Cohen; and antiquities dealer Faiz al-Amaleh.
You can read the Final Reports on the Yehoash Inscription and James Ossuary from the Israeli Antiquities Authority here. I will quote a few conclusions concerning the James Ossuary that Oded Golan had in his possession:
Oded Golan contacted me (Orna Cohen Conservator of Antiquities) over ten years ago, introduced himself as an engineer representing a group of investors who renovate historic buildings. He spoke of the Khan at Sha`ar Hagai as a one of the sites they are preparing to renovate. He said he had studied the subject of creating old patina on new stone to set into the building. I showed him a number of related articles and we discussed the subject.
Patina is composed mainly of oxylates formed as a result of organic activity on the stone surface. The production of this material can be accelerated in a laboratory by creating suitable conditions.
In view of the doubts that have arisen regarding the authenticity of the antiquities in his possession, I think it important to know that Oded Golan possesses such information. From my examination, the ossuary appears to be authentic. Its inscription suggests forgery, for the following reasons:
- The patina in the letters is grainy, crumbly and falls apart on touch. It is not similar to natural patina. It appears that ground chalk mixed with water was used to coat the letters.
- A thin coat of chalk dust coats the original patina on the inscribed side, probably to camouflaging the intervention of the inscription.
- While examining the inscription, some of the grainy material inside the letters was collected for laboratory examination. A microscopic examination revealed the same yellowish patina as on the ossuary surface inside the letters “brother of Jesus”. No similar patina, however, was found inside the letters of the first part of the inscription.
The reason why this ossuary is mentioned is because in the tomb that has come up with the ossuaries of the family of Jesus, there was one that went missing; this is what they say about the missing ossuary:
“one of the ten ossuaries went missing from “The Jesus Family Tomb.” Its hastily scribbled, rounded-out dimensions generally match the James ossuary.
And the film documents recent tests conducted at the CSI Suffolk Crime lab in New York which demonstrate that the patina (a chemical film encrustation on the box) from the James ossuary matches the patina from the other ossuaries in the Talpiot tomb”.
Now if the patina on James’ ossuary matches that of other ossuaries in the Talpiot tomb and the patina on James’ ossuary is said not to be authentic, doesn’t this raise some serious questions of authenticity?
Let’s look a bit further into the gnostic side of the tomb. Have you ever heard of a Chevron before? To be honest I hadn’t, but it did pique my interest. Anyway, this is how they describe the strange symbol:
[...]the first thing they noted was a strange symbol over the door to the tomb, on the south face of the antechamber. They were at a complete loss. They had never seen another like it: a decorative V- or Y-shaped gable or chevron over a prominent circle. It measured more than a meter wide, wider, in fact, than the passage to the tomb beneath it.
Apparently it is a little confusing as to when this symbol originally came about but there have been links to this symbol being the all Seeing eye and it can also be linked to freemasonry. They also discuss that Chevron is a secret symbol that can be linked to the Knights of Templar; they make special mention that Dan Brown may not have had it all wrong after all, they say that there may be some truth in what he concluded.
There is also an ossuary that is called “Judah son of Jesus” and this is the supposed ‘Son of Jesus the Son of Mary Magdalene’ - incidentally, the inscription on her ossuary carries the title of “Mariamene e Mara” – “Mariamne, also called Master” a much more important title than that of Jesus. Ironic isn’t it, that it was only a few months ago Judas the betrayer recorded in the gospels was recently called into question as to whether or not he was in on the plan with Jesus and was perhaps even considered to be the most beloved of all the disciples who would help carry out the plan to crucify the Lord (hmmm I wonder if the bones of Jesus have the marks of crucifixion?). According to this documentary we apparently have the bones of the son of Jesus who was called Judah which is another version of the name Judas. The irony!
Looking further into it we find that Mary Magdalene is now called the Master! It was only a few months ago that Mary Magdalene’s role as a major disciple was announced because of the recent book and film called the Da Vinci Codes; this Mary knew of secrets that Jesus only shared with her. Dan Brown would be loving this!
There is another secret contained within this tomb - Mary the mother of Jesus - her ossuary was written in Latin, this ossuary is called Maria. I bet the Church of Rome is loving that, or maybe not! I was not aware that Latin was even a language back then. Does anybody know if latin was a language back in the 1st Century AD?
Now of course this site has called into question the resurrection and the ascension of Jesus with all its claims. They have a discussion on that also, you can find that here.
But like I said … the first ossuary has been examined and there seems to be some playing around with the inscriptions found on it. And if this ossuary is one of the missing ten that was originally found in the Talpiot Tomb then we have to be very wary of the other ossuaries authenticity.
But Bar-Ilan University Prof. Amos Kloner, the Jerusalem District archeologist who officially oversaw the work at the tomb in 1980 and has published detailed findings on its contents, on Saturday night dismissed the claims. “It makes a great story for a TV film,” he told The Jerusalem Post. “But it’s impossible. It’s nonsense.”
Kloner, who said he was interviewed for the new film but has not seen it, said the names found on the ossuaries were common, and the fact that such apparently resonant names had been found together was of no significance. He added that “Jesus son of Joseph” inscriptions had been found on several other ossuaries over the years.
“There is no likelihood that Jesus and his relatives had a family tomb,” Kloner said. “They were a Galilee family with no ties in Jerusalem. The Talpiot tomb belonged to a middle-class family from the 1st century CE.” Jerusalem Post
I personally think that this whole thing is a concerted effort to try and debunk Christianity by liberal scholars, but hey … that is my faith talking.
Yes, before you get all hung up about it …. I do realise my reasoning is based on the faith I have on the inerrant Word of God; which I consider is over and above a hypothetical document that doesn’t exist at all called ‘Q’. Yes, my faith resides in a book that I consider being God’s Word to mankind rather than a story written by man about his idea of what or who God actually is.
My faith is based on the fact that a major part of the bible has prophecy written into it and the very fact that the Jews are back in their homeland called Israel is just one of many fulfilled prophecies that have come to pass in my parent’s life time. I base my faith in an empty tomb and the harmony of the gospels firstly. Outside resources like Josephus and many others that testify to the fact that Jesus existed and that a crazy sect called Christians were willing to die for their belief in the fact of the resurrection was gaining ground across Judea then spreading further, well…. that is just icing on the cake for me.
There is a puzzle though … don’t you think that with the spread of the Christian faith after Jesus death, burial and resurrection (my faith talking here) that the government at that time would have been hugely grateful to have had Jesus bones or even Jesus’ son and wife to debunk the crazy notions of the newly founded Christian sect who were spreading lies about an empty tomb and the ascension? Nothing at that time was revealed by the government, they didn’t produce a thing to counter the resurrection story. Not a bone, not a son, not a wife. That certainly would have put and end to the sect … you know those crazy ones who were killed because they believed in the Messiah-ship of Jesus, the death by crucifixion and the bodily resurrection of Christ.
Just something to ponder!
A short video about the Mughrabi Gate excavations.
An excellent video produced by the Israel Antiquities Authority only needs 92 seconds to address the myths and facts of the Mughrabi Gate excavations.
Iran’s Emissary takes to the sky
I woke up early this morning and had the news on, and to my surprise they had a news story that didn’t involve football or any other sports story of any kind … *she says sarcastically*. Anyway, the news was about Iran testing a recent rocket launch.
Hmmmm, now with America hot on that trail and with their aircraft carriers in the gulf and with oil reaching another high because of this test, I reckon this is being regarded as a provocative move by Iran.
While the Eisenhower is ostensibly assisting US operations in Afghanistan and Iraq, it is the looming threat of Iran that increasingly occupies its attention.
Recent tensions between America and Iran over Teheran’s attempts to develop a nuclear weapon have raised the prospect of its third regional war in a decade.
The addition of a second aircraft carrier to its strike groups has fuelled the belief that America is gearing up for a fight with Iran. Not since the Iraq war in 2003 has America amassed so much fire power around the Gulf. @Telegraph UK
Now, according to Space Today this launch is carrying a satellite called Safir-313. Interesting name really, this is because Safir is a Persian word for emissary. Emissary which means ‘one designated as the agent of another : REPRESENTATIVE … a secret agent’. I wonder what the other agent is? It could be nothing, or it could be something. The something could be extremely concerning, the something I am worried about! And I am not alone.
Who is concerned? Well it seems America is pretty concerned as Cheney is fine with democracy but has also voiced that all options are being discussed. ‘All options‘ means what exactly? I guess time will tell.
Israel is another country that has a lot to lose, I guess it’s taking the threats of annihilation seriously.
So what’s the big deal about a rocket launched into space … well, how about the Electromagnectic Pulse Weapon - EMP - this weapon does not have to be that accurate but can render all technology useless. If you don’t know much about the EMP then this is a weapon that is a major threat to all western countries. The Shahab-3 ballistic missile is quite capable of being armed in this way.
Israel has got hot under the collar and has become really worried because of its vulnerable position and has asked for the all clear so they can fly over Iraq if necessary to do a pre-emptive strike against Iran’s Nuclear facilities.
Israel is negotiating with the United States for permission to fly over Iraq as part of a plan to attack Iran’s nuclear facilities, The Daily Telegraph can reveal.
To conduct surgical air strikes against Iran’s nuclear programme, Israeli war planes would need to fly across Iraq. But to do so the Israeli military authorities in Tel Aviv need permission from the Pentagon.
A senior Israeli defence official said negotiations were now underway between the two countries for the US-led coalition in Iraq to provide an “air corridor” in the event of the Israeli government deciding on unilateral military action to prevent Teheran developing nuclear weapons.
Iran is also threatening worldwide strikes if attacked.
However, Iran is clearly not doing the right thing with the UN, which is a pretty redundant NGO anyway, but hey … they keep offering more Security Council Resolutions, one after another.
With the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty of 2003 it has now been 1334 days that this Treaty has been successfully ignored by Iran. For an up to-date report see: ![]()
“Report of the Director General of the IAEA on the implementation of the NPT Safeguards Agreement and relevant provisions of Security Council Resolution 1737 (2006) in Iran“
The IAEA first reported that Tehran had failed to comply with its obligations under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty in 2003. 980 days later, on March 29, 2006, the Security Council finally became seized of the matter of Iran’s nuclear ambitions. Since then we have watched how long it will take the Security Council to live up to its UN Charter obligations to (a) determine Iran’s behavior constitutes a threat to international peace and security, and (b) take serious action to maintain peace and security. On July 31, 2006, the Security Council adopted a resolution under the Charter’s Chapter VII, by implication connecting Iranian misdeeds to a threat to international peace and security. But the only action the Council could muster was another time extension and report due in August 2006. The IAEA reported Iran’s continued non-compliance and August came and went. On December 23, 2006, the Security Council adopted a resolution under Article 41 of Chapter VII - this time involving a sanction scheme so weak that even Iran’s reaction has been muted. In order to gain Chinese and Russian votes on the Council, the scheme gutted earlier European and American drafts. The resolution gave Iran this ultimatum for continued non-compliance of UN pronouncements and resolutions about Iran’s nuclear program: “further decisions will be required.” So the clock keeps ticking while Iran pursues nuclear weapons and the UN has yet to get serious about sanctions that pose any prospect of stopping them before it’s too late. @Eye on the UN
And just if you are interested, I have found a really good blog called Regime Change Iran. It reports the things that are under-reported in the MSM.
Ok people, for some reason my blogs are playing up
I am just writing a quick post about my other blog called ‘journey through the Word’ … for some reason it has become amalgamated with living journey and is playing up big time.
I will have to wait until tomorrow until I send in feedback because they don’t address issues during the weekend.
Hopefully it will have righted itself before then.
My apologies for those who are confused by what has happened but it is beyond my control at this stage.

I’m Back!!! Yippeee
I’m back people!!!
The only thing I have to do now is to do data retrieval so I can get all my information back. This may take some time. Unfortunately I have lost email addresses, so Carla and Ed etc., can you please email me so I can get your email addresses as I miss our chats.
Hubby did a very nice thing, he has leased a brand new lap top for me! :) What a man! He knows how important my research is to me.
Now … like I said, I have to get all my tools like e-sword and all my digital photo’s off of my stupid Dell notebook which by the way only lasted 18 months before it crashed and burned big time. The mother board went on it, and to fix it was going to cost me over $700 …. yet for a few more dollars we could upgrade. Go figure, throw away notebooks!
Anyway, I will be a very busy girl in the start of the week. I have almost a weeks worth of bible reading to do, that alone will take some time. Oh well.
As a side note, for those of you who have been reading about my dads wilderness, there has been no change in his circumstance. But more information has come to light. He has disclosed to one of my brothers that he just couldn’t accept the manifestations at the church he was attending. So, in all reality, that is a good thing. So, I just pray that God will really open him up to question things and that he will eventually attempt to find answers in the Good Book!
Ok, well it is the weekend for me, so this is just a quick update.
It’s nice to be back!
V
My PC is down
Just to let you know that my lap top is sick and so I will not be posting for awhile. I have all my information and email addresses on that lap top so I have been left pretty ineffective.
I will be back as soon as it is convenient.
Thanks
Vee
Orbs of Light — What next?
Recently I posted about my Dad losing his faith, he now even denies the very existence of God.
My Dad who has been a Christian since before I was born (and I am over 40) has recently told the family that he doubts the very existence of God. Unfortunately, he has been involved with a church that has fallen for the Toronto Blessing and to date that church is still having bad doctrine preached from the pulpit by many international guest speakers.
Dad use to be so grounded years ago, and when we have discussed things in the past, he often shared with me his doubts about the “new move of God” that he was witnessing in the Church he was attending. Sadly, Dad has seen God be pushed around by the demands of man in regards to sicknesses and wealth etc., You know what I mean …. the blab it and grab it gospel. He has witnessed God be bullied around in his own fellowship. He has said to me … ‘What about Gods will, does anyone pray in His will anymore, or do they just demand God to this or do that?”
He has said to the family that he started to lose his faith around 10-12 years ago.
Thinking on it that is when that whole move started in his church.
He has also said that he doesn’t feel (feel being the operative word here) that God has been in his life. Because he has been fed this experiential garbage he figures that he should be feeling what others claim they are feeling. But because he does not; he doubts that there is God, fullstop end of story.
I know and understand that faith has nothing to do with feelings but everything to do with taking God at His Word and believing it. Feelings are fickle, but Gods Word is true. Dad use to be able to argue and debate anyone who doubted in the inerrancy of God’s Word. Now he doesn’t believe in any of it.
Can you please pray!
I know that myself as well as other members of my family have had grave concerns for a long time concerning this church. I also know that my family members are praying for the right opportunity to present itself so to unmask the heresy that has been taught.
This will be discussed at some point in the family but this will certainly put my parents at severe odds with one another. Mum wants Dad to simply come back to the Church, while myself and the other members of my family want my Dad to remember his first love through the Word of God.
Yes my parents are at odds at the moment, but I think that during this time of Dad’s wilderness God can really get him back to His Word and teach him without all the background noise of nonsense.
Just to add to my point. Dad had ceased going to all the international speakers that were basically Holy Rollers, Mum on the other hand, always went with a friend. And I have just found out that these speakers are still getting people to roll in the isles with Holy Laughter etc., I had thought that this sort of behaviour was well and truly over with, obviously it’s not.
I recently went to my parents Church’s website to see who the next big speaker will be and what will be the next big fad to hit that Church. And this is what I have found!
A man by the name of Darrel E. Stott is going to be a guest speaker there in April. You can bet my Mum will be there with bells on.
Do you want to see what is happening in congregations when this Darrel E. Stott preaches … do you want to see what appears with this man as he travels the world?

Yes that’s right! Angels appear as orbs of light, Oh but may I point out that this photo happens to be taken in Alaska where there is snow falling! (now that is interesting).
The promotion on his website says this about Bishop Stott:
“There are many ministers who preach on the Glory of God but Darrel Stott is one of the few who are a carriers of the Glory of God“.
He is a carrier of the Glory of God hey?
Not only that, but if you’re in real need of some jewellery and need a bit of gold to make some, then you can melt together the gold that falls when you get it from one of the meetings! I wonder if they have silver as gold is just not my colour.

Regarding the words of Prophecy … Bishop Stott says this about it:
No one expects a prophet to be 100% accurate but it is reasonable to hold those with a prophetic ministry to some sort of accountability in regards to their directive and foretelling of future events.
Oh … but if the words coming from a prophets mouth are truely from God then wouldn’t they be 100% correct, or is God the liar?
My poor Dad no wonder he is in the wilderness, he hasn’t even been fed Manna, he is starving for real food.
Would anyone notice if you were to die?

I doubt very much that this would happen to me … the dishes in the sink would pile up, the hungry tummy’s would start to rumble, no clean clothes for the family to wear and the animals would be starving!
This has given my a better perspective about my need in the family unit.
Orbs of Light - what will be the next thing?

Seven Chakras - The Interior Castle
I remember that I wrote a post back in April last year that implied that the next move in the apostate church will be the introduction of ‘Centering Christian Chakras’. In that post I was seeing the trend of centering Christian chakras slowly infiltrating the Church through the emergent movement and the New Apostolic Movement.
The sad thing is that this post attracts the most search engine terms in my blog and from people who happen to think good things about this new age/occultic practice.
The other sad thing is that the comments to this post had to be closed because of some very unbiblical occultic advice being offered to one poor lost soul named Joel.
Joel had come to the realisation that he had been interpreting the bible wearing New Age glasses. From what I gather he was heavily into christian chakras (biblically there is no such thing) and kundalini and he is now experiencing spiritual oppression by satanic forces that keep him living in fear. Some really unhealthy spiritual and physical things were happening to him because of his practice of contemplative eastern meditation.
Speaking of the contemplative, there is a push to introduce ‘The seven mansions of the heart’ otherwise known as ‘The Interior Castle’ which as Carla pointed out in her post can be linked with the ‘Seven Charkras’ of the kundalini.
This seven mansions of the heart paradigm is a dangerous form of Transcendental Meditation. Let me be clear, it IS Occultic and it IS a doorway for seducing spirits to enter into the person. Please people, take note … many Christians have been saved from this very occultic new age practice. I happen to be one of them. Why would I want to go back to something that I was released from when I became born again? I was saved out of it, - as were many others - now the Church wants us to go back to it.
They say all roads lead to Rome and the mystics of Rome were the ones that encouraged the contemplative prayer/centering prayer/lectio Divina which they freely admit comes from eastern myticism. This method of prayer is the tool in which many naive Christians are using and as a consequence are becoming part of the biggest delusion that God Himself has sent to judge the house of God.
Did you even know that the House of God is where judgement will begin?
I pray that Carla’s latest post called ‘Seven Mansions‘ will be a warning to people who are unsuspecting but are not totally given over to the delusion and so have started to question whether or not this and other non biblical practices are something that they should be involved with in their Christian walk.
I will give you one very clear scripture where it talks about coming out of a system that has become a dwelling place for demons. It speaks about the Whore of Babylon’s sins being joined together and it speaks about this system that is full of unclean spirits and is a prison of every unclean bird. Jesus calls to His people to get out of her! He is talking about His people to not partake of her adulterouss sins.
Rev 18:2 And he cried in a strong, great voice, saying, Babylon the great has fallen! It has fallen, and it has become a dwelling-place of demons, and a prison of every unclean spirit, and a prison of every unclean bird, even having been hated,
[...]Rev 18:4 And I heard another voice out of Heaven saying, My people, come out of her, that you may not share in her sins, and that you may not receive of her plagues;
Rev 18:5 because her sins joined together, even up to Heaven, and God remembered her unjust deeds.
Rev 18:6 Give back to her as also she gave back to you, and double to her double, according to her works. In the cup which she mixed, mix to her double.
This emergent movement is one that is all inclusive and it has joined people in unrighteousness because of its practices that they call vintage faith. It has made people unequally yoked with unbelievers of the Gospel of the Lord which according to the Holy scriptures, it is by His name only that we are saved and His Word says that we are to worship in Spirit and in Truth. Yet within the emergent circles they deny that truth can be absolutely known.
How long do you think God will contend with this ungodliness?
Scripture is also clear that this is happening as a judgment sent by God for those in the house of God who have become unclean by not adhering to the Word of God.
1Pe 4:17 Because the time has come to begin the judgment from the house of God; and if firstly from us, what will be the end of the ones disobeying the gospel of God?
The judgment happens first in the house of God. Frightingly it also states that the righteous are scarcely saved! Yes, that’s right it says the the righteous are scarcely saved! The righteous with great difficulty are saved. Then, how much harder will it be for those who have become ungodly in their wickedness in joining other gods with the God of the Word.
Scarcely Definition:
μόλις
molis
Thayer Definition:
1) with difficulty, hardly
2) not easily, i.e. scarcely, very rarely
1Pe 4:18 And “if the righteous is scarcely saved, where will the ungodly and sinner appear?”
God will send a powerful delusion because people do not love the Truth once delivered to the Saints. This delusion is now happening within the emergent movement. The New Apostolic Movement has been orchestrated by man and only now are we seeing the fruits of his/mans labour. I may address this New Apostolic Reformation in a later post as this move is only now beginning to unfold and bring to the fore all of its ungodly practices.
We must also remember that in Matthew when Jesus talked about the churches condition and the false prophets before His coming He did say that their love would grow cold because they have become unlawful. Yet … by sheer irony they are the ones that tell people who have discerned this move as not a biblical move, that they are the ones who are too legalistic, simply put, they have become unlawful in their heart and deed. They fail to see that they are acting in a unlawless way because they have not kept to scriptural discernment regarding the teaching and practices that are so prevelant today.
Mat 24:11-13 And many false prophets will be raised and will cause many to err. And because lawlessness shall have been multiplied, the love of the many will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end, that one will be kept safe.
The reason they have been sent a strong delusion is because they have forgotten their first love which is a warning found in Revelation to the Church of Ephesus. The interesting thing is this, the book of Ephesians is a book that biblical scholars agree addresses the key doctrinal aspects of the gospel. Some scholars though certainly not all, have also suggested that this book although addressed to the church in Ephesus was actually a circular letter that went to several churches of Asia Minor but was mainly written for the church in Laodicea.
Regardless whether or not this letter was specifically addressing the church of Ephesus or not, it was a letter that addressed key doctrinal issues concerning the gospel of Jesus Christ - and the warning to the Church of Ephesus later found in Revelation is for them not to forget their first love. We would certainly all benefit from listening and heeding to the advice from Paul when he wrote this letter called Ephesians.
Concerning the Epistle of Ephesians:
The occasion of it was the foresight the apostle had of false teachers that would spring up in this church, after his death, and spread their pernicious doctrines, and draw away disciples after them, and do great mischief in the church; wherefore the design of this epistle is to establish the saints in the doctrines of the Gospel, that so they might not be carried away with the errors of the wicked: the subject matter of it is most excellent; it treats of the most sublime doctrines of grace, of divine predestination, and eternal election, of redemption by Christ, and of peace and pardon by his blood, of conversion by the power of efficacious grace, and of salvation by the free grace of God, in opposition to works: it also very largely treats of the nature and usefulness of the Gospel ministry, and of gifts qualifying for it, and of the several duties of religion incumbent on Christians; and the method which is used is exceeding apt and beautiful, for the apostle first begins with the doctrines of the Gospel, which he distinctly handles and explains, and then proceeds to enforce the duties belonging to men, both as men and Christians. John Gill’s Expostion.
Rev 2:4-5 But I have against you that you left your first love. Then remember from where you have fallen, and repent, and do the first works. And if not, I am coming to you quickly, and will remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent.
Notice that they must remember from where they have fallen which is a call to them to remember that they were once dead in their sins, but because of the gospel of salvation have been granted a place in the kingdom of God. Notice also that it is possible that the lampstand be removed from the temple of God if they do not repent. The gospel of Christ is one of repentance and that is what they have been called to do - to repent from where they have once been and to remember the first works in their life that came about by their first love of gospel of salvation, the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Unfortunately before Christ comes again the church will have within its visible and its invisible walls a love that has grown cold because they do not love the truth of the gospel anymore.
2Th 2:10-12 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
That delusion is now in the church and we have entered into the time period of the Church of Laodicea:
This church (Laodicea) represents the state of the church, from the end of the spiritual reign of Christ, till the time of his personal appearing and kingdom, to judge the quick and dead; for after the spiritual reign is over, professors of religion will sink into a formality, and into a lukewarm frame of spirit, and into great spiritual sloth and security, Rev_3:15, which will make those times like the times of Noah and of Lot; and such will be the days of the coming of the son of man to judge the world. Its name signifies either “the righteousness of the people”; and so may point at that popular and external righteousness, which the majority of the professors of religion in this period of time will be boasting of, and trusting in; being self-sufficient, and self-dependent, when at the same time they will be naked, as well as poor and blind, Rev_3:17; or it signifies “the judging of the people”; for this church state, at the end of it, will bring on the general judgment; the Judge will now be at the door indeed, standing and knocking; and they that are ready to meet the bridegroom, when he comes, will be admitted into the nuptial chamber, and sit down with him in his throne, in the thousand years’ kingdom, at the close of which will be the second resurrection, when all the people, small and great, shall be judged, Rev_3:19. John Gill’s exposition.
With all that is happening which began as an orchestrated movement where men called for a New Apostolic Reformation whatever unbiblical form it may take- and there is a new reformation happening - the first love of many has grown cold. There is judgment and division in the house of God. There is the spirit of Anti-Christ within the invisible church (who will also become visible at a later date as Daniel the prophet said).
The divide between two paths will only grow wider and more apparent and the path toward ecumenical brotherhood will become even more inclusive by becoming wider still. Such a path only narrows the true path that points us to the cross of salvation. This ecumenical inclusive path is so wide that it seems to be no path at all - but rather a place where there are no clear sign posts to point the way as every sign post is to be believed upon and every sign post can take you there - which happens to be as some have described it a thin place to be.
Is it any wonder that so many in the church are walking labyrinths in desperation and hope to find God in the centre of it all? Yet, they are told that what they are really searching for is that thin place that place where the divine and the human dissolve - a place between heaven and earth - a place that is actually called Shambhala which happens to be a common theme to all mystic revelation no matter what the terminology is to be used.
What times we are living in, they sadden me greatly. I just continue to pray for these lost souls that are walking in circles getting nowhere.
The sad thing I have noticed is that it is the same people who fell for the toronto blessing will continue to be fall for the next fad, the next big thing, the next wave if these people do not test all things according to scripture - that these people are sincerely wanting to find God is a sincere thing to do, but they are looking in all the wrong places. They have been told that He is found in the inner rooms of spirituality the inner rooms of the heart or soul or the human divine. They will be told that it is in the interior castle or within the seven mansions of the heart that is where you can find God. Yet, Jesus Himself when speaking of the last days prior to His coming, the first thing he warns us against is about the false prophets and the deception coming from these wolves in sheeps clothing. We are warned to not believe that He is in the inner rooms. Sadly those who have fallen for this deception previously were walking in a wilderness and felt that this particular annointing was an answer from God. People actually travelled to the other ends of the earth to get touched by this annointing. Yet, Christ warns us:
Mat 24:26 Then if they say to you, Behold, He is in the wilderness; do not go out. Behold, He is in the inner rooms; do not believe.
Jer 5:31 The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their hands; and My people love it so. And what will you do at the end of it?
What will you do at the end of it?
