What is the Gospel of the Kingdom?

What is the Gospel of the Kingdom?

This is a good question considering so many people are confused about what this gospel actually is. Now, I understand that to many people the bible is a piece of literature that is not necessarily God’s Word to mankind but rather man’s story about God. We will increasingly hear the words ‘God’s story’ because the Church is in real trouble, in fact we are in need of a biblical reformation, and the fork in the road is becoming clearer and the scriptural path narrower.

The trouble came with post-modernism and its double truths - post-modernists don’t believe in absolutes, they are absolutely sure of that. If you hold onto the post-modern philosophy then your method of biblical interpretation will falter. truth.jpgWhy, because it doesn’t accept that there is absolute truth or that there is any way in which you can find it. The bible teaches differently and never the two shall mix.

The bible itself contains fundamental truths that are not in anyway to be compromised. People have been martyred because of their convictions to certain biblical truths. These truths have not changed since the birth of the Church. In fact biblically they have always been a testament to God and His Son. We are to:

  • Worship God in truth
  • Serve God in truth
  • Walk before God in truth
  • Esteem truth as inestimable
  • Love truth
  • Rejoice in truth
  • Speak truth to one another
  • Execute judgment with truth
  • Bind truth about the neck
  • Write truth upon our hearts
  • The FRUIT of the Spirit is in truth (this is important)
  • Ministers should speak truth
  • Teach truth
  • Approve themselves by truth
  • The gospel of truth came by Christ
  • Truth is in Christ (to know him fully is to know truth)
  • Truth is part of a Christian amour
  • Truth should be loved
  • Should be made manifest
  • Should be rightly divided (important)
  • We should plead for truth
  • Make it known to others
  • It is denied by the devil, unrighteous and by all unbelievers

Truth falling by the wayside is predicted in Isaiah:

Isa 59:14-15And justice is turned away backward, and righteousness standeth afar off; for truth is fallen in the street, and uprightness cannot enter. Yea, truth is lacking; and he that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey. And Jehovah saw it, and it displeased him that there was no justice.

The gospel of the Kingdom according to the Scriptures - what is it, what has the Church got to do with it and has it changed? Let us see…

Carla has a New blog - More Books and Things

Ok, Carla has a new blog called More Books and Things.

With this blog she examines the new stream of books and authors that are finding their claws I mean their way into main stream evangelical Christianity. I have been reading her old blog called Books and Things now for just over a year and found it very insightful. She is leaving that blog up for people to meander through. She has put a lot of hard work into that blog with over 700 posts.

I wish her well with her new endeavour.

Ps.

Carla I have blogrolled you :)
