Living Journey

History Repeating — Part two — Part three coming soon!!!

I am so sorry to have to post something like this. I feel that this message has to get out.

I just wanted to remind myself and others, that not only does history when forgotten repeat itself but there is also a saying that says this … ‘The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.’

Firstly, let me remind you that I believe that Salvation is found in Christ and that is the only hope we have and there is a future hope and that being His kingdom which is to come and be fulfilled completely, that is something that I look forward to, as do many others.

But unfortunately the bible also says that there will be wars and rumours of war before His coming again. It is not something that I like to say by any means, I do not get any pleasure whatsoever from posting this at all. I am sure that when Christ lamented for Jerusalem he felt more sadness that I could ever conjure up in a life time. You know … in the Old Testament in Genesis 6 God, before the issuing of the flood God said that He was deeply grieved and sorry that He had ever created man. I wonder what He feels now when He looks upon us and our word?

“it repented the Lord,” may be gathered from the explanatory יתעצּב, “it grieved Him at His heart.” The repentance of God is an anthropomorphic expression for the pain of the divine love at the sin of man, and signifies that “God is hurt no less by the atrocious sins of men than if they pierced His heart with mortal anguish” (Calvin).

I have read the bible through and through and I have no doubt that we are living in such times as Christ talked about in the ‘Sermon on the Mount’ found in Matthew 24. I don’t mean to be negative … but perhaps this can bring into question your own future and your own mortality. If you have any questions about your life and about today’s religious and political complexities, then may I suggest that you, with an honest and inquiring heart, delve deeply into the Word of God and get to know who Jesus said He was and what was the purpose of His first coming. That is your only hope, it is found in Messiach Jesus.

It is not found in any political movement which is gradually amalgamating into a political and religious movement with some influential men pushing for that. Whether your are left or right there is a step toward a marriage between the two in America which undoubtedly will trickle down to other democratic countries. This amalgamation is happening not only in the West but also in the middle-east with Islamic ideologies that are becoming all the more hard line.

Walid Shoebat is interviewed along with two other people and I will post the other part of this series at a later date.  It is confronting and there are certain parallels drawn of which I have spoken about before.  I pray for these men and others like them for their safety which has been compromised because of their speaking out… so stay tuned.

The Trinity Rock

Gen 1:26-28 - 2:7 And God said, let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness…
And God created the man in His own image; in the image of God He created him. He created them male and female.
And God blessed them; and God said to them, Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth
And Jehovah God formed the man out of dust from the ground, and blew into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

I bought this recently… it was made in Africa. It is a statue of a family made out of one piece of rock. I call it Trinity.

I decided to take a photo of it and play around with it in photo-shop, I like the way it turned out. Something a bit different isn’t it?

I am thinking of posting a little bit of a study on this …

So, if I am to think a little more about the image of God and what that image actually is — I am also to think about what constitutes a family in God’s eyes. There is a reason why God is all for the family and that family as an ideal family being - Father, Mother, Child - it is because we are created in His image. God being the creator and being in His image we are also able to create and to mulitply.

The triune God is explored in the Old Testament from the first verse of the bible where it says:

Genesis 1:1/B’reshit 1:1 “In the beginning, God (Elohim אלהים) created the heavens and the earth”

The name Elohim is unique to Hebraic thinking: it occurs only in Hebrew and in no other ancient Semitic language. The masculine plural ending does not mean “gods” when referring to the true God of Israel, since the name is mainly used with singular verb forms and with adjectives and pronouns in the singular (e.g., see Gen. 1:26). However, considering the Hashalush HaKadosh (Trinity), the form indeed allows for the plurality within the Godhead.
