I am going to start this post with where I left of yesterday where I said the following.

A few posts back I mentioned how Nazi Germany managed to be legitimised by the West which effectively pulled the wool over the West’s eyes, is this starting to happen again? This is what I said in regards to appeasing nations.[...] it seems it is happening again with different countries (Recently we have had Rick Warren doing the same). Unfortunately, there is no evidence that Rick Warren ever presented the Mufti with the actual salvation message of Christ –which is the Church’s first commission and it is not that of being involved with politics of a nation — that was not mentioned, just as his PEACE plan is not one of biblical grounding but more about social politics.

If you have not gone to the two links and read what I have posted yet, they give you a back ground as to where I am coming from. But just to briefly recap for berevity I will quote a small part from those posts and then get on with some more pressing news on the Syrian/ Warren front.

[C]ountries and their governments want to be legitimised […] Hitler did this with the help of the Olympic Games in 1936 - Hitler managed to integrate his nation symbolically and also built up the people living in Germany at the time, the medals were secondary to the points he wanted to make.

Another example is George Bush Sr. who had the same foggy idea when it came to Saddam Hussein, Bill Clinton too, had the same idea in regards to North Korea, he wanted that country to become more co-operative so he extended concessions.

The Mufti while in talks with Warren [..] called for conveying the real image of Syria, national unity and its call to spread peace, amity and justice to the American people which the US administration has distorted their image before the world. Perhaps this image is not the one they want to portray?

Warren expressed admiration of Syria and the coexistence he saw between Muslims and Christians, stressing that he will convey this image to his church and country.

Now we have Syria renewing calls to lift blockades on Palestinians who backed Hamas as their newly founded Government

It seems that the Grand Mufti is feeling ligitimised after Warren’s fleeting visit. It made quite an impact on him. He is now telling Syrian media that the Saddle-Back Californian Pastor has endorsed a Syrian perspective on the Middle-East. Warren is increasingly becoming more liberal and a left wing religious sway is evident by his actions. I have noted before in a post called ‘New Churches see RED!‘ and another one called ‘Is the left recruiting the right?‘ that there seems to be a big swing in the churches toward the unbiblical leftist social gospel.
